Certainly not your run-of-the mill B&B but a warm welcome, lovely large (family) room and a very good breakfast. The sitting room - where we had a much needed cup of tea on arrival - and the dining room were full of antiques and really quite fascinating. Our bedroom was clean and spacious although the shower cubicle was a little...

If you want some boutique nonsense then isn't the place for you. Rustic building, chickens roaming around, antiques all over the place. Wood burning iron furnace in the living room.
Bedroom was big with sitting area.
Family run so not that many staff, but warm friendly lovely people. More like staying with friends than at a hotel.
Great Value.

I stayed here last Summer with parents & frinds to see Status Quo..stayed 2 nites - I was single so had the Mouse House room - it was lovely - all the rooms we had were clean & "told a tale" the minute you walked in, they had everything you needed for a comfortable stay.

Upon arrival, it looks like a scrapyard, junk everywhere. Whilst waiting in the dark, dreary entrance, there was no sign of anyone. We waited for 20 mins and no one came to check us in, despite 16:00 being the check in time. No lights were on and half empty boxes were left in the centre of the room, along with...

I wonder if the other reviews are about the same place ! Our reservation was on a torn scrap of paper and we were ticked off upon arrival. The hotel is dark and very untidy. It is surrounded by a junk yard and filled with junk, everywhere. We booked the 'premier room which had no lock on the door, just...

Stayed here with my husband and dog for 3 nights. This place really is a little peace of paradise in Alnwick. Its so unusual and friendly. The rooms are not massive but they are really clean and tidy. There is no bar at this hotel but Evelyn puts a couple of wine glasses in your room and you can take...

We were disappointed with our room- the dovecote. We had been told we would have a room with good lighting. In fact it was very poor lighting- one tiny window in the main bedroom. We had expected a bath in the ensiuite and there was only a cramped shower room. One of the towels had holes in. Although we had...
