Spent 2 nights here to recover from a week of house hunting, and had a very enjoyable stay. We were in Lower Court, one of 4 rooms in converted outbuildings, each with a private patio with lovely views over the gardens and to the valley beyond. The room looked as if had recently been refurbished, with a new bathroom with... More

This was our first visit and certainly won't be our last! Audrey and her staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly - without being obtrusive. The location is perfect for walking plenty to choose from with many starting from the hotel, visiting local NT properties, gardens and exploring the fabulous countryside. The room had a breathtaking view and was... More

Our second visit. This time we got a last minute offer of £150 for a smaller room (still spacious with all we wanted) for dinner, room and breakfast for two. The cooking is wonderfull, the setting is tranquility itself. I wish we could stay there more often.

This is just the place to recharge your batteries and to escape for a while. Beautiful views and lovely walking. To top it all the food is outstanding! The staff are so lovely and nothing seems too much trouble. We have been stopping here for 7 years now and always want to return again! We cannot recommend Pen-y-Dyffryn highly enough.... More

This is a very comfortable hotel with good food in the most beautiful countryside. It is rather expensive and although the food is good we didn't feel it was worth the money, a three course meal was £37 per head plus supplements for some dishes and the portions are rather miserly so if you are a big eater you may... We had an excellent time. 20 of us arrived to celebrate a 60th birthday. The staff couldn't have been better, friendly, helpful and the service was prompt and flexible. The room (we had a coach house room) was very well appointed with all mod cons and a view to die for. The food was great and as others have said... More

A delightful country hotel well located to explore N wales and the border towns and cities. We stayed in one of the patio rooms which was cosy and comfortable - ideal in which to relax after strenuous tourist activity in Snowdonia etc prior to an excellent dinner on each of our 3 nights. Great to escape the cold comfort of... More

Me and my beautiful new wife had to bring our wedding date forward so had to pick somewhere quickly to stay on our honeymoon and after reading some good reviews plumped for this hotel and wow what a stay. Another excellent visit to our favorite hotel. Once again everything was great including the weather, perfect area for walking if a little steep in places.( Offas Dyke!) The view over the garden from the Champagne room was sublime, snowdrops in abundance together with a large variety of wild birds to watch. The food, housekeeping and welcome was as usual first... I do not generally write reviews but feel the need to do so in this instance. We have recently returned from a two day break at Pen-y-Dyffryn having had a great time. The food was excellent, the wine choice just as good and the hotel had a very nice cosy feel about it. The service was very friendly and professional... More
