We really enjoyed our stay but the place is too far out the way for places but the bus stop came in usefull
When you find somewhere as good as the Running Horses, you kind of want to keep it to yourself. But my mother taught me it was good to share and since a good friend recommended the place to me, it would be selfish to keep this little gem of a rural retreat from others. Especially when it is oh so...

We booked the Running Horses for our adult family weekend. The rooms are good though some are better than others, full of character. The Coach house and Ascot room are amazing!! Good evening menu. Good food. The service was very attentive. Thank you for a great weekend
I had read reviews and found them very mixed so we took the chance on the better reviews...oh la la what a mistake! I think the review at the end of March which was terrible was more representative of our dining experience.
There seem to be some very very fundamental problems, if you are the owner I would seriously try...

We visited the restaurant on Saturday evening to celebrate a special occasion which unfortunately turned out to be very un-special! We were given a menu as soon as we were seated and promised a wine list. We were then ignored for the next 20 minutes when we requested the wine list, some water and asked if we could order. The...

I visited the Running Horses for Sunday lunch and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent and the service was warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. This pub is a gem! I will definitely be going back!
Just a quick comment to say I could not believe the service we received at the The Running Horses. First off let me say that it is a lovely country pub with good beer and a good location however their understanding of customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
My friend ordered the Three Local Sausages and Mash. While...

We were so psyched about our weekend in golden Surrey - we were celebrating our first anniversary and decided to upgrade from The Burford Bridge, where we had met one year before, to the lovely looking pub we had passed on our homeward journey. It looks idyllic - steeped in history, a truly picturesque setting I can't express how let...

We booked a table on Friday evening for Saturday lunch for 4 adults and 2 teenage daughters. We then read a number of reviews on this and other websites that almost made us cancel our booking describing poor service and a dingy restaurant. However we are so glad we didnt. The dining room, although a low ceiling in keeping with...
