Did not stay at the Inn so can only comment on the bakery - just stopped for a quick break at Ross on the way to Hobart and glad we did. The cafe serves traditional baked goods with a stand out Tasmanian scallop pie - just enough curry, plenty of scallops and great pastry (and we tried a few on... More

This place needs a separate review site for the cafe that is attached to it - is a great stop over from the Midlands Highway. It is a place to stay but more importantly it is a wonderful little cafe. It has freshly baked cakes, slices, pastries, pies and especially ---- great scallop pies!! Firstly, the cakes - check my... More

We stopped on our way to Devonport, from Hobart, due to the recommendation from my traveling partner/co-worker. She said they have the best vanilla slice in the world, and it was also proclaimed on their window, and I was thinking 'sure, sure'...... so I ordered the small serving and took it to Devonport with me to have after dinner and... Like a previous review this is only for the bakery. We ate there twice and both times we enjoyed what we had. The vanilla slices were fantastic... best in the world? Why not! We were with a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed their lunch dishes with salad which was fresh and with dressing on the side (great as 1... More

Review is for the bakery only. Good, quick and friendly service even while busy. The vanilla slices are absolutely the best, none of the horrible pink icing you see on most vanilla slices from other bakeries, and the filling is delicious. Oh and it will be the biggest vanilla slice you've ever bought! Tea/coffee also good!

Ross is very picturesque and the Ross Bakery B&B is right in the middle. The food from the bakery was quite delicious. Recommend this place as a great, middle of the trip tun from top to bottom of Tas. Just up the road at Oatlands is a good coin op laundrette.

Authentic comfortable and clean old stone B&B. We had very enjoyable stay in this iconic midlands village & great value. Breakfast was delightful including juices, cereals, cappuccinos , hot chocolates and gorgeous fresh bakery items. A social mention goes to the fluffiest, lightest most amazing croissants I've ever, ever tasted. Even if you don't stay here, do drop into the... More

This was a gat nights stay. Old fashioned rooms which accommodated 3 of us easily. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The pub was a short walk down the road for dinner. The following morning we were met with a fantastic breakfast of freshly made croissants, pastries and loaf of bread and what we couldn't eat we were invited... More

I took my 87 years young Mother a trip to Tasmania. As we both love staying in B and B I chose the Ross Bakery Inn. We made the Inn our home away from home for seven nights so packing and unpacking was not an issue. We took day tours from our base at the Inn and always looked forward... More

Our stay at Ross Bakery was a wonderful surprise. The description of the property before I booked really didn't do it justice. Immediately we arrived, I felt welcome. The staff were warm, the fire was warm, the bed was warm ...the whole atmosphere was warm, welcoming and cosy and the port around the fire with other guests at the end of... More
