Booked, not expecting much for $200 for the night. WOW....my mistake. We had a 2 bedroom (+2 bathroom cabin) lakeside cabin which was sensational. Kitchen and lounge facilities which we did not need as the dining facilities were great. We arrived to pouring rain and propped in our cabin for the afternoon, then went to dinner early. The only downside... More

After the daily grind of work we were in need of a weekend away just the two of us so after a quick internet search we diecided that Tall Timbers Smithton was the choice . We had heard good things about this establishment from other people and friends that had stayed here which made the choice easy and after a... More

Stayed here with a group for one night. Set in beautiful surroundings. Rooms are little cabins which were very large and clean. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and I can't speak highly enough of the staff. There were 2 large groups there the same night and all our meals were served in record time, perfectly cooked and... More

Certainly a surprise given the size of the township. Facilities are good and the pool is excellent. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable although the night we stayed was very warm and there was no air-conditioning - however given that this warm night was the exception in this part of Tasmania it was understandable and tolerable.... Standard room clean and tidy after you beat through the flies in the room. Internet access was sloooow even through you pay a premium price by the hour. Unlimited access to the internet is very cheap now. Access should be included in the rates. They should get with the programme..

I stayed here recently for business purposes. To be honest being a country town that whilst services a big area, it is all quite remote so there are not many options. My room was a standard type of hotel room, clean, comfortable and whilst a bit outdated, was good value for money. The main building which houses dining, gaming, bar... More

We stayed at the Tall Timbers recently for one night. The facilities were pretty much what you would expect from this standard of accommodation. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are bungalow style and include tea and instant coffee making facilities. WiFi is not free (which I think it should be) but this tends to be standard in Tasmania.... More

Tall Timbers appears to be a great place to stay for a family and provides all the necessary facilities a resort style accommodation has to offer. Our single room for $140 was, I believe, a bit stiff. There is a bistro which cooks up large dinners. Every staff member we came across were helpful and cheerful. There is a games... More

We requested a disabled room and the receptionist could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for this young Kiwi lady (sorry forgot her name).Cooked to order Brekky was great - huge feed - too much really. ( not enough guests for a buffet that morning). Room was very clean and accessible. Dinner was well cooked and... More
