I wish I had the ability to give Sandcastle Suites a 1.5 rating. This is not a high-quality establishment ... more akin to a cut-rate motel. You're paying (a lot) for convenience to Cedar Point, not for quality lodging or amenities. If we were to visit Cedar Point again, we would stay elsewhere - likely one of the off-site, better-rated... More

Arrived at hotel. Checkin process was ok. They were training new employees, but overall they were nice. Upon checking in.. we realized that there was a monsoon of bugs outside. Don't recall name of them but we came at peak season of it. It was comical the reactions of people to the bugs, because they were everywhere. There should have... More

First off, make sure when you make your reservation that you are in one of the refurbished rooms. Sandcastle has been redoing its rooms over the past couple of seasons, and though they may be done with the refurb, it wouldn't hurt to ask. Since it is owned by Cedar Point and right on the property, part of the cost... More

My friends and I stayed for one night at Sand Castle Suites. We originally wanted to book one of the cabins on the cedar point property, but apparently they were "booked up" even though Cedar Point seemed almost dead during the time we went. (During the week, July 13th-14th) The choice was between this or Hotel Breakers (we wanted to... More

This place was the cheapest near the park. We got a suite on the first floor and it is definitely smaller than the online pictures. It was clean, but the beds were terribly uncomfortable. The walls are thin and you can hear everything next door. Even walking down the hall at any hour, you can hear loud music and people... More

We stayed here for 2 days while vacationing with our granddaughters ages four and eight. We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. Even though it was very hot, we were able to cool the room adequately with the air conditioning. In addition the bedroom had a ceiling fan. The suite is very small but it was adequate for... More

My biggest concern when staying in a hotel is cleanliness. I can deal with fixtures and decor not being updated, but our room at Sandcastle was not very clean. Specifically the bathroom floor was filthy. There was dirt, and hair all over floor. When I mentioned it to the front desk staff, they said "we'll let the housekeeping supervisor know".... More

Having read other reviews, we chose to stay here despite some of the negative comments. While our stay was good, great weather, fun time at the amusement park etc. we couldn't help but feel that this hotel is way overpriced. Compared to many other resorts we have stayed at, the feel of this property is that of a budget motel... More

I understand that staying at a hotel near Cedar Point isn't about the hotel, but this was extremely expensive for such an average hotel. Let's start with the good. The hotel sits in a very good location; near enough to the park to walk, but far enough away that you don't have non guests regularly walking though. The parking was... More
