We stayed in the Salmon Suite of The Cottage and had a nice quiet night in a clean room. We dealt with Mike for our reservations and check-in and got to meet a lovely golden retriever. Mike showed us to our room and advised us to keep the door closed to exclude mosquitoes. Had we not met our neighbors in... More

Three years ago, I wanted to surprise my husband with a trip to the Spray Rodeo for his birthday on Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, by the time I tried to book our trip, the hotel in Spray was full. Fortunately, I stumbled onto the Fish House Inn and RV Park website. We booked the Main House and had a wonderful... We were on a budget vacation and wanted a place to stay near the John Day Fossil Beds, and the Fish House Inn was great. We booked the Seaside Room in the attic, but Mike kindly upgraded us to the Field & Stream room for the same price, so we had a private bath. We had brought dinner in our... More

We stayed in the Salmon room. It had a small refrig, microwave, coffee maker & coffee, claw foot tub, wifi, and a small table for two. It was too cold to eat outside though we used the grill for cooking. Nice grounds and we were treated to some home grown tomatoes. If you plan on cooking, bring plates and utensils.... More

We stayed at the Fish House for three nights in mid-August in our RV and used it as our base of explorations for Dayville and the John Day Fossil Beds area. The property is immaculately maintained by Mike, and he is friendly and welcoming. The site is located directly off the John Day Highway (26), and anything worth seeing in... More

Arrived past check in time, Mike was very accommodating to make sure we made it to our choice of rooms in the cabin(duplex style). The owners have done an excellent job renovating property to make it a weekend gem of Eastern Oregon. Landscaping is immaculate!!!!!

What a find! A small but beautiful RV Park and Inn. Well appointed with full hookups, well maintained grass, shady mature trees, nicely kept restroom/showers. In the middle of town, close to a store and restaurant (for lunch and breakfast) but quiet. A very peaceful place, friendly people and close to the John Day Fossil Bed Interpretive Center, a must... The cozy guest-house set back in a wide lawn was a quaint and comfortable way to spend an evening between trips to the fossil beds and painted hills. The room was very clean, and the bed very comfortable, and the refrigerator and free coffee was very welcome. It was great to sit out in the yard and have the owner's... More

We had not been completely convinced by its website pictures and information when we booked but on arrival found the Salmon Room and its siting to be very pleasant indeed. The facilities in Dayville are limited but we certainly endorse the complimentary reviews about the Fish Inn that are on the Tripadvisor site. Well recommended!

Me and my Busch Brothers stayed the night in the main house and it was fantastic. The owner and his helper were the best. We played golf nearby and afterwards we were very over heated, the guy that was cleaning the rooms gave us permission to use his house to access the river to cool off. Now thats customer service...
