Atmosphere..atmosphere..atmosphere. This is the only reason I would go back to the Grand Lodge. The food and service is another story. Ordered a beer and it never came even asking 3 times. Ordered a pizza without onions got it with onions. The waiter seemed so busy..he graciously ordered me another pizza and the next pizza came with onions. Outside we... More

This former Masonic Lodge is a fun and reasonable place to stay. There is a restaurant, bar, soaking tub, and Frisbee golf all on-site. The rooms are smaller and the bathroom is down the hall. However, robes are provided and the multiple stalls in the restrooms ensure there is not a wait. The walls are decorated with sayings and memorabilia.... More

Don't go to Mcmenamins if you want your stay to be just like every other hotel you've been to because Mcmenamins is not your run -of-the-mill place -- we like it so much better. As another reviewer aptly described it, Mcmenamins is "the people's resort"! The grounds are beautiful and park-like. The restaurant has good food, excellent coffee (their own... More

This was our first time to the Grand Lodge and say we were pleased as usual with this McMenimins establishment. I love walking the halls and reading the history of the building. The food and drinks were great and loved ending the day in the soaking pool.

We’ve been coming here for years, perhaps 8 times since it opened in 2000.What delights me the most is how much the landscape plantings keep changing the character. It has become more private, more like an enclave, and rich with all sorts of vegetation. It’s like staying in the middle of a city park where you can enjoy bar beverages,... More

I just stayed at the Grand Lodge Hotel in Forest Grove for a saturday night. The property was well kept and each bar was unique. The service by both hotel and restaurant staff was very good. My only real complaint is the hotel room itself. There is no air conditioning, no tv and no toilet/shower in the room. The bathroom... More

The Grand Lodge is a nice place to visit, but its not as funky and cool as Edgefield. There are numerous pubs and a soaking pool, but it doesn't have as many "hidey-holes" and neat secret places as Edgefield. Food is alright, not great, rooms are small but very comfortable. I really like the fact that there are no TV's.... More

I've stayed at the Grand Lodge before, but this time was truly awful, the worst hotel experience I've had in the last 15 years at least. Here are some of the things that went wrong: --I was in a basement room with no, as in zero, air circulation. The room was much hotter than either outside air or the hallway... More

Thank you for your feedback on your stay at the Grand Lodge. We are very sorry that your experience was not an enjoyable one. I will be following up directly on the issues with the wifi, heat in the room and lack of parking. It is true that there is no air conditioning but there are things we can do... More

We had never stayed at a McMenamins before but we go the movies all the time in the Bend, Oregon one. We checked in and the main bar was right at the entrance of the check in which was already very busy and loud. Our room was only a few doors down from this area on the same floor. We... More

With every inch of every wall painted with crazy mystical garbage, and every room named for a dead mason, I was completely creeped out. In Mozart room with painted explanation on walls of why and how he was murdered - yeah, real homey! No TVs in the room, no air, and outside my room a paining on the wall of... More

Make a grand escape to McMenamins Grand Lodge! It's all in the details here, with the stately columns and winding drive, wide green lawn, 77 European-style guestrooms, restaurants and small bars and some of the most fantastic artwork to ever grace these walls.Built in 1922 as a Masonic & Eastern Star home, the Grand Lodge has stories to tell. Renovated and opened by McMenamins in 2000, what was once tranquil and serene is now vibrant and colorful. Here the walls do speak... as do the doorways, the hallways, and even the overhead pipes. (Look up...)Inspired by the history of the city of Forest Grove and the building itself, McMenamins' artists have infused the Grand Lodge with original artwork and historical photographs – all tributes to the cast of characters who left their mark before us. ... more   less
