We and friends booked both rooms at the Avellan Inn based on its central location amongst the North Willamette Valley wineries, the earlier reviews on TripAdvisor and the Inn's website. As noted in an earlier review, the grounds don't look much like the website. The pond is dry, the garden overgrown and the "working" hazelnut orchard is working its way... More

The location of this small bed and breakfast is excellent - in the heart of the beautiful Oregon wine country, and very quiet and peaceful. As another reviewer stated, the grounds are not immaculate, but we enjoyed walking through the Hazel Nut orchard and admiring the falling-down old farmhouse next to the converted barn that is the bed and breakfast.... During a tour of Willamette Valley vineyards, we stayed at Avellan Inn, mainly based on its positive reviews here and its website photos. The place is under new ownership since many of those reviews were written. Our first impressions were not good. The grounds surrounding the house are nothing like the picture on the web. Now the new owner shared... More

We found the Avellan Inn through Frommer's. We were traveling with another couple and were excited about the idea of staying in a B&B with only 2 rooms. We were not disappointed. The inn is very charming with 2 upper floor rooms that are connected by a common room and sitting room (although the bedrooms are separated enough that two... More

We stayed there for a couple of nights in June 2008. We booked both the Emily’s and Sally’s rooms. Both rooms are fabulous, clean, and with its own bathroom. The Emily’s room is a real bargain. It consists of a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a separate living room, which fits a rollaway bed comfortably, and more importantly, a private... More

My wife and I stayed at the Avellan Inn for a couple of days. Before we arrived I contacted Patt (the innkeeper/owner) for suggestions on dining in and around Newberg. Patt responded straightaway with several suggestions. The room (and bed) were fantastic and the breakfast was unbelievable. There were many amenities, more than I can remember, but suffice to say,... We stayed at the Avellan in Newberg for one night while on a road trip through Oregon. Our room had a large porch and its own entrance. Beds and linens were very nice. We even had a sitting room, so it would work well for families. The grounds are lovely and you can walk through the filberts orchard. The breakfast... More

This place is a diamond in the rough! My fiance booked this property for both of us and his parents as we planned to visit many of the local wineries nearby. I would definitely go to it again! The price was right and Pat, the hostess/owner, is an amazing cook! My fiance is somewhat of a 'foodie' and even he... More
