“Home away from Home”

We have season tickets to the Artist Rep. Theater. We come early, check in at the Hotel Deluxe, see the play just a block away, go to the Driftwood Room at the Hotel for a snack, stay overnight and leave for home(Mt. Angel) the next morning. Decided to book a last minute trip to Portland and searched the usual sites: hotwire, priceline, expedia, itravel2000, travel portland, etc. Found a sale on Expedia and called the hotel to see if they would price match. I went to this hotel at 8:30 am to see if I could check in early. No problem! The room was ready, cool, and with smooth jazz playing on the radio. Great location, walking distance of the Pearl area, close to a great restaurant called Tasty and Alder, friendly staff, comfortable sized room but only one housecoat, not enough light in the bathroom and a soft bed.

We had a summer trip to Portland and came unprepared. We stayed here and the rooms were amazing. A little small but very nice. Comfortable beds and a great location. Central and parking right across the street.
