We were here for 2 nights and had a pleasant stay. It was probably more of a 3.5-star stay but the service from the front desk was so great that it made the experience next level. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and a special shout-out goes to Grace, who was an absolute gem. Check-in was smooth and took less than 5 minutes. They provided 2 bottles of water and there is a water dispenser in the lobby as well. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but we were not a fan of the pillows (too soft). The bathroom was relatively new and brightly lit. We liked the scents of the products from This Works. The cafe/bar downstairs had good coffee and breakfast bites. We did not get a chance to use the balcony, but we did appreciate the nice city view. The wi-fi process was a bit confusing. You will need to sign up for Bonvoy to avoid wi-fi charges. Thankfully, I had some status with Marriott but we saw a list of charges when connecting. The front desk cleared that right up and clarified we were good for up to 6 devices and to ignore the pricing. Other minor nuisances - the toilet paper roll is behind usual reach and not very accessible, and the shower had very low water pressure even after adjusting the settings. At checkout, they asked about our stay and reviewed the bill with us. They would also say hello and ask about our trip, and provided recommendations for a rainy day when we asked for an umbrella. The staff is delightful, warm, and welcoming. For that alone, I would recommend this hotel!

Nice hotel with great river views. Adjacent to a nice park and within walking distance of many venues. While certainly not the worst of Portland, our room also had a view of a homeless camp and the ever present graffiti. We were catching a cruise ship here or i would not have been caught dead in Portland.

Dear Captcanuk, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We hope your cruise ship experience was enjoyable. Our primary goal is to ensure that our guests have everything they need for a perfect stay. Although we are pleased that you enjoyed the beautiful river views from our hotel and our convenient proximity to various attractions, we understand that the surrounding views from your assigned room fell short of your expectations. We are grateful for your patience, and we hope you will give us another chance to make a better impression. Best Regards, Keake Woods Director of Hotel Room Operations

Mister Aseen was of great assistance, and assisted as good as he could to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Marriott Portland, and everyone, was extremely supportive. Especially the Gentlemen in the Blue Shirt at the M Club Lounge was tip-top, and did the very best he can. What was quite surprising, that in the Marriotts BonVoy App, it specifically says that overnight parking is US$ 17 / night, and that the destination fee is US$ 25, and when I reached the hotel, I was told that there is no self parking and that Valet costs US$ 54 / night. Truth to be told, outside overnight parking is free and it just US$ 14 for early bird parking at the Crown Plaza parking. What is quite odd is, that it rains quite a lot and the connecting bridge on the 3rd floor is underwater most of the time, it looks like this is the only swimming pool they got left at the Marriott. (Refer to photos). That I hung out my Don't Disturb Sign and housekeeping still knocked on my door, this is kinda rude, but no hard feelings here, it was approximately 335 and my checkout was at 0400pm. Breakfast contained, at least, some fruits, which was awesome. Room was excellent, nice view over the river, and especially Ms. Grace did her best to accommodate my destination fee packages at her very best. There have been a great variety of options available, which included tickets for an art museum, Whiskey tasting, f&b credit (I got 5 x Gatorade and a Red Bull), a welcome gift (which is usually popcorn, but they were running out of it, and i went for a chocolate bar instead), and a bike voucher for 60 minutes, however, it was Sunday, and closed, therefore to be used next day, however, it was raining cats and dogs, the next day. Liked their gym, it was absolutely fine, all good.

We had a nice overnight stay here. Rooms a comfortable, cleans and spacious.. The check in process was very slow (15-20 minutes) even though we had checked in online. Staff we unconcerned about that. The hotel is right across from the river park which is nice for walking. We also walked in the downtown area a bit for lunch and dinner. Be aware this IS Portland = lots of open drug use in public areas, large tent encampments, the usual characters that come with that. Because of that i would likely not stay in Portland again. It seems like a great city but it is just too much out of control there.

Kudos to Grace from the Front Desk for truly creating a remarkable experience for our friends who were staying there as they embarked on a dream cycling trip with Trek! We wanted to set up some bubbles in the room to congratulate them at the start of the trip, and Grace truly went the extra mile and made it happen (and on a very short time line too!). This really made a positive impact and her efforts are most appreciated - thank you Grace!!

Have avoided downtown PDX for the last couple years due to the street issues and crime, unsure of this visit but was happy to find even the park across the street was in good condition. From the valet to Molly at the front desk to the team serving food this has been one of the best Marriott experiences I’ve had in a while. Thank you team for making this a destination to return too! Great job!! Hope some of the other hotel properties in Portland and in Oregon model your operations!

We stayed here for two nights. The location is good if you want to be downtown, although there's not much of interest in the immediate neighborhood. But we were upgraded to a room with a water view, and that was wonderful--truly gorgeous views of the river and the mountain. The room itself is a bit on the small side, especially the bathroom, and it's clearly an older property although the decor has been updated. Everything was clean and comfortable, and noise levels were surprisingly low. The AC was annoying, though--it either blasted the room to Arctic levels or was off. All of the staff were very friendly. We were offered water bottles at check-in, a nice touch. The breakfast place is good for a quick bite and the bar/restaurant isn't bad. They do charge a $25/day "destination fee," but at least you get some value for it: a $25/day food credit, whiskey tasting, art museum tickets, and some other things.

We had a very pleasant experience as we always do . The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and treat you with respect. Terry the bartender is absolutely fantastic!! He remembered us from years ago, and he has not changed . What a tremendous asset he is to your staff . He even took the time to talk with me for about 10 minutes even though the bar was busy with festival goers !! Needless to say we will be back when we come to Portland!!

The service at the hotel makes it shine. We spent one night for a conference here. I was here with my 13 year old son. It felt like 2 days because they were super accommodating when we checked in at 10am. They gave us a room right away which was immensely appreciated because I had a conference call starting at 10am! I didn’t pay for a river view but they ended up giving us one. They also graciously arranged for us to have a late check out at 1pm for the next day. They offered us a free water when I mentioned planning to tour the city for the day. We walked to Mother’s restaurant at night and to Powell’s books. They are both about a 20-25 minute walk away. The hotel also has a great little breakfast cafe that’s great for lunch too. The bar looks nice but didn’t have a chance to have a drink. They have a gym but didn’t try it. No pool. I would definitely stay here again.
