We recently went to Allenberry for a wedding. The property was stunning. It made for a great location for an outdoor wedding. The reception was nice too. I was a little underwhelmed by the buffet, but you get enough to eat. A nice place. More

My wife and I stayed for one of the murder mystery weekends and in one word it was "unforgettable". The actors were fantastic. The food was out of this world and plentiful. We have already booked our room for the 2012-2013 murder mystery season. More

(Stayed December 4th thru 7th, 2011 for an area funeral.) This is a very popular stage playhouse in the area, however, the rooms are old with peeling paint and very old decor (small-yellow-tiled bathrooms). Apparently we were the only ones staying in the hotel for the two nights of our three-night stay and they felt they didn't need to fix... More

We have been long time guest at the Allenberry. I would not trade any of my stays for 5 star hotels. I am in the hospitality business and the staff at the Allenberry are the best around. The accomodations are terrific. My husband and I always enjoy a play and he is always on the "Breeches" fishing and I relax... More

Stayed here for two nights with our bicycyling club in August, 2011. Had a fantastic time. A beautiful setting amidst tall, old trees, and lush landscaping. Enjoyed the pool, wading in the trout stream, and wandering the grounds. Enjoyed each and every meal. A family owned and operated resort, the attention to customers was a real priority. The staff went... More

We stayed here one night with dinner and breakfast the next morning to enjoy the musical "Smoke on the Mountain". Although the play (gospel music) was not to my taste (I was accompaning friends so this was not my choice), it was very well-performed and I enjoyed it more than I expected. They offer a variety of plays throughout the... More

Stayed for two nights with elderly parents and twin 2 year olds. There was something here for everyone. The little ones saw "The Little Mermaid" while the older set enjoyed the "Sisters of Swing". Stayed in one of the cottages and the accommodations were lovely. Housekeeping was prompt and courteous and attended to all our needs. While we never could... More

My wife and I attended the grand opening of the playhouse on April 6, 2011, to see the musical "Footloose." Having seen over 50 plays during our lifetime, including some on Broadway, this one ranks right up there near the top. The vocals and enthusiasm of the cast was truly amazing. We are looking forward to many more of Allenberry's... More

We attended Alllenberry Murder Mystery weekend " The Fame Game" and had an absolutely fantastic weekend. The show and actors were simply fantastic, as was the food, service and rooms. We were in a one bedroom cottage that was quaint, comfortable and romantic. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we have already booked another weekend and with five other couples... More

To travel is to go from one place to another, to experience a change, to engage in a journey. Allenberry is all these things and so much more. I first fell in love with this place nearly two years ago when a friend recommended it to me as an off the path reminder of a "Dirty Dancing" (the movie) type... More
