Went to the Castle Inn for a family birthday lunch which coincided with Fathers day. We were a party of nine with ages ranging from over 70 years to less than 7 months including 3 other children under 6 years. We received a lovely welcome and were seated in the less formal and more relaxed area with other family groups.... More

Both the village and external/internal aspects of the Castle Inn are delightful. The staff are helpful and although we only called in for a lunch break after a lovely local walk along the river we were expecting something good. Sadly it was very ordinary. A Caesar salad had to be returned as the lettuce base was swimming in water and... More

We booked a table for Saturday night, 6.30pm. It was quiet when we arrived, but quickly filled up during our meal. The food was definitely not pub grub, but the prices were not high either. The staff were really friendly, too.

If, like us, you've never before visited Castle Combe in Wiltshire then my first recommendation is to put it at the very top of your English 'must see' locations! It truly is the quintessential rural English village with a history stretching back nearly 2000 years and boasting that no new homes have been built there for nearly 400 years. In... More

We were staying at the Manor House hotel but wanted a less "formal" dining experience with our friends. Having made a booking (through the Manor House Hotel) we were contacted by the restaurant about dietary requirements a few weeks ahead - there was a lot of choice offered. On our arrival (an hour late, due to unforeseen circumstances) everyone was... More

The hotel stands in a superb picture book English Village - as other reviewers have said almost certainly best viewed OUT OF SEASON - It must be a nightmare in season . The Hotel restaurant is an absolute stunner ! We were fortunate to get a table without booking but definitely advise booking in advance The staff were wonderfully attentive... More

Myself and my partner have just returned from a 3 night stay and had an amazing time. We arrived slightly early but our room was ready and we were shown straight to it. We had room 9 which is up a narrow flight of stairs and is located under the eaves but was a beautifully furnished room with enourmous bed... More

There are some days when touring in England is best conducted sitting inside somewhere cosy looking out. And so it was this windy and cold March Tuesday. We came to Castle Combe, this little movie set of a village, had our look around and opted for afternoon tea at the Castle Inn. Actually we were able to park right out... More

Stayed here in March on a Groupon offer which was very good value as it would be out of our range normally. It’s a bit remote and the Sat Nav got confused as the hills got in the way but we got there in the end and had a very nice room with twin beds and large bathroom with a... More

We just returned from a stay here and were absolutely delighted with this hotel. Our room was up in the attic which was a climb but that made it all the more fun! The breakfasts we're wonderful as was the dinner we enjoyed at the restaurant. We highly recommend a stay in the charming village of castle Combe
