I'm biased! - My Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Greatuncle, who lost a leg at the Battle of Waterloo was set up in this pub by his two brothers afterwards, and I believe the building dates from about 1816. Two of the brothers were Carl and George Lund. The family owned the place until the 1950's and then sold to a brewery. I have some... More

Great place to stay I always stay in it when I'm in Bury. The owner Keith is the nicest bloke you would meet he makes you feel at home and makes you breakfast and it's right beside Gigg Lane the home of the mighty Shakers Bury FC. So I would advise anyone who is going to Bury to stay in... More

I don't mind a little shabbiness and for the price i wasn't expecting anything fabulous but floors that hadn't been hoovered, grimy windows, and somebodies leftover smelly sock were beyond my worst imaginings. More

This is my local pub. I recommend this pub/hotel for the extreme good homemade food and especially the Sunday Roasts and Breakfasts. The owners Keith and Margaret make you welcome as you own family. If you want a typical English Bed and Breakfast Hotel is the Waterloo your choice to stay. More

The Waterloo Hotel is situated near to Bury FC's ground at Gigg Lane, & therefore very handy for somewhere to rest your weary head after a night on the beer after watching a game there. The hotel/pub is beat described as cheap & cheerful. Not the sort of place to bring the wife, but ideal for lads up to watch... More
