The staff are great. We were greeted by two young ladies on the reception desk with big smiles and a happy attitude. The same applied to the restaurant staff and the house keeping people. this made other limitations which the hotel more tolerable. More

Overall, good food, rooms, staff for a 3 star hotel in need of a little tlc. Great location for couples and the older holiday makers, but I wouldn't recommend for young families as entertainment and activities are not at hand. Upgraded rooms appeared a little expensive for the hotels rating but are probably charged as much for the views. Standard... More

My wife and I have just returned(1st May) from a four night stay at the Cliff Head Hotel as part of a 38 strong group of people from Cheltenham intent on exploring the wonders of Cornwall. Sadly four days of rain and strong winds made it a disappointing holiday. However, our accommodation in this hotel helped to temper the negatives... More

First impression on arrival was it looked rather tired but this thought was soon gone by the welcome I had from the Receptionist I was booked into a very clean twin room on the front overlooking the lawns the en suite was very clean and well equipped. The Bar staff were very helpful with drink prices alot less than in... More

A big mistake. We were not advised that there would be 170 wedding guests at the hotel who took over the whole bar area, the lounge area and took to smoking outside in the car park directly under our guest room window. As the room filled with smoke we were forced to close the windows but this did not stop... More

We booked this the day before as generally Best Westerns are good but I was dissapointed with the Cliff Head. On arrival we enquired about diner in the restaurant to be told because of the coach trips they had in we would have to wait until 8.00 pm. Considering that we paid full rate for the room I expected better... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights over Easter. We found it to be very homely with plenty of space around the ground floor public spaces. Our room was on the first floor, overlooking the sea and had a nicely tiled bathroom with large shower enclosure. The room itself was comfortable with tv, tea & coffee... More

We had a two night break in the Best Western. It was a bit of a shock to drive up to the hotel, after passing a luxury hotel right next to it. The hotel looks extremely dated from the outside, but then again it was inside too. We were given our key and told to find our room by going... More

Stayed here in Oct 2011, but only just remembered to review it! The room was clean and looked quite recently refurbished, but the new carpet hadn't been fitted well in places and so the cupboard and bathroom doors got stuck on it. It was also hard to use the cupboard as one of the twin beds was so close to... More

I stayed for one night and was impressed with the peace and comfort of the place. The building is a bit dated and short on charm externally but was niceley decorated and functional inside. Lots of space downstairs and the room I had was quite large with a clean bright modern bathroom. Breakfast was very nice and was served rather... More
