Great service from the staff & wonderful food from the kitchen. We had the degustation 6 course lunch with wine pairing. The whole experience was class. Treat yourself. Not cheap but you only live once. The setting is unapparelled & I highly recommend

Nice view , food a huge disappointment. Bread nice , pasta starter ok , kingfish absolutely horrible , wagyu steak not worth the extra money. Desserts average . Service good but overall 700 AUD for at best average food (for 2) with a rather ridiculous 10% Sunday supplement) , don’t do this …its a con

Wonderful lunch at Raes.Perfect outlook over Wategos Beach. The 3 course menu at $115 a head is a great choice.Quality dishes on offer. We particularly liked the Dry Aged Yellow Fin Tuna Carpaccio as starter, the Dry Aged & Glazed Free Range Duck for mains and the Mint Slice for dessert.Good selection of wines especially white Italian varieties like Fiano.Attentive service by Ramon Fernandez. Not cheap at circa $180 per head (before tip) but it’s a world class dining experience.

Drinks at Raes were awful. The 'special Margherita' was an eggcup sized glass with minimal alcohol and partial salt on rim. My wife's glass of champagne was served in a wine glass, and not a flute, and loud inappropriate music played in bar area. We're travelling Australia visiting our daughter, and this was a very disappointing 'low light'...expensive too...50 plus bucks...would recommend don't waste your money....reputation bigger than delivery!

Although it is a nice place for lunch with nice views it pretends to be what it was once many years ago. They charge the same prices as a fine dining restaurant in Sydney but they miss the details. No tablecloth, cheap napkins, they serve food on a bowl instead of a normal plate. Perhaps it's trendy for cafes but not (don't like to feel like a dog), for fine dining. The dessert was an out of the freezer quickly thawed semifreddo with no extra delicacy. The main Chef was not there, he arrived as we were leaving (possibly to get ready for dinner patrons), so only the secondary chefs were preparing the meals and it was obvious. Only one toilet for women and there was a queue in spite of the restaurant being only half full. The staff were nice enough.

Raes on Watego is one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure to eat at. My husband and I went there for dinner on our first night in Byron Bay whilst on our honeymoon. The food was out of this world, and the service was excellent, especially our waiter Daniel. Whilst this wasn’t a cheap dinner, it was worth every single penny. Loved it.

From the moment I decided to dine at Raes on Wategos it was evident that this would be one of the most exceptional dining experiences I've ever had, even before setting foot in Australia. Their prompt responsiveness to my requests was noteworthy. Despite a bustling Saturday evening, they accommodated me, offering the best seat in the house. The fact that I was dining alone didn't diminish their impeccable service. I felt valued and treasured, precisely the kind of treatment one anticipates in a fine dining establishment. Both the staff and the culinary offerings exceeded my expectations. My heartfelt compliments to the chef and everyone involved in crafting such a memorable meal. Furthermore, the cocktails were sublime, mirroring the high standard set by the food. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for its exemplary management, staff, and overall dining experience. Five stars in every regard.

Went here with the family for lunch . The food was very very good . The entrees were different and amazing . Some of the best I’ve ever had . Mains were also different and very very good . Lobster pasta was off the charts , duck and fish also really good and different . It’s hard to pull off different but exquisite and they did it . One of the better restaurants I’ve ever been to food and service wise . It’s a bit on the pricey side , however I’d still recommend it For sure

The food never disappoints at Rae’s . I didn’t challenge myself with the degustation this visit. Opting for the 3 course dinner. The tagliolini with spanner crab had the crab served to the side which allowed the delicate flavour to be appreciated. Then the Morton bay bug with lasagna was exceptional. Big flavours in the lasagna but still allowing the bug to shine. Finally a savoury desert of cheesy pastry was a wonderful ending A grand cru Chablis worked well with the first 2 courses and a port with the pastry. All served by the very attentive and efficient Kevin.

After reading good reviews I thought we should try this place. Booked dinner. Waiter felt like he thought he was better than the customers which I really didn't like. The menu, you need to have all 3 courses. My husband has allergies which the waiter didn't even bother acknowledging. We ordered for entree squid ink pasta as they was nothing else I liked (I dont even really like squid ink pasta) we told the waiter this and that my husband is gluten intolerant to which he said well just leave the pasta and eat the rest. So we did just that. The manageress came to take the plates away and asked us why didn't you eat the pasta and we told her gluten intolerant to which she answered you should have told us we have gluten free pasta (just shows how much that waiter listened to us). i struggled through main and dessert looked like slop. Wnat a total waste of $240 . There are much better places to eat in Byron.
