I highly recommend Pinetrees. My wife and I spent a week there in May 2013. Location is excellent - everything on the island is within about 15 minutes easy push bike ride. The lagoon is just across the road. The BBQ lunch picnic is a great option. Internet access was slow, but usable. Too bad about no mobile phone service,... More

Enjoyed a week at Pinetrees Lodge and our accommodation in a spacious garden cottage was great. We were impressed with the quality of the food but a bit frustrated to find Kingfish on the menu 5 nights in a row! Being a fish lover, planned to have fish every night but had to change my mind! It was great to... More

Wow, what a beautiful island. We stayed here in march for our daughters birthday along with 5 others. The small plane from Sydney lands very near the mountains and the owners of pine trees were there to meet us bags were taken and next appeared in our bungalow. Peace and tranquility is the order of the day with wonderful food... More

We had 5 booked days plus extras in a cottage at Pine Trees Resort on Lord Howe. The stay was extended because of a passing cyclone when no planes could land on the local strip. However, before the winds and rain started we saw what we could of the island and that was great but cannot really report on the... More

We were put into this resort by our travel agent because we had been booked in to Capella Lodge and had an extra night to fill in. Consequently, our first night was spent at Pinetrees Lodge. It is a very family friendly place, and is right in the middle of an ancient pine forest. It is a short walk through... More

We travelled off-season to LHI, partly to keep the costs down, but the other up side was just how quiet it was! AND although it was cool, (we were there about the coolest week of the year), with a thin wetsuit, it was plenty warm enough to snorkel, and the snorkeling was amazing, as good as the Great Barrier Reef,... Our family of 5 just returned from 7 nights at Pinetrees. It was incredible. The island itself is a world heritage listed paradise. The service at Pinetrees gave me insight into how the other half live. The staff, from the owners to the cleaners, are all friendly and helpful and nothing was any trouble. From the moment we arrived we... More

Just back from 5 days at Pinetrees on the magnificent Lord Howe Island. Everything about Pinetrees is superb - food, accommodation, service etc etc. They only bad thing about the stay is that you are individually weighed at the airport when you depart the Island.

Best place to stay on the island. Well located. Great food. Friendly and helpful lodge staff. Rooms comfortable although older in style. A traditional lodge managed by a sixth generation Lord Howe island family. Lodge was even featured in a 1935 National Geographic magazine. The island is spectacular- coral lagoon, multiple beaches, rock pools, hiking tracks, great viewpoints, incredible birds,... More
