We stayed on the top floor in a VERY plain 60's motel room. We endured dodgy amenities in a scraped and patched bathroom, complete with a leaky shower screen to give you wet feet in the middle of night toilet visits. During the night I opened the curtains to see if a helicopter was in fact landing on the grass,... More

Great service, relaxed staff, wonderful venue and nothing was too much trouble. We'll be back. The restaurant was truly amazing and the food brilliant. Breakfast provided elements that my grandmother used to dish up. Room positioning allowed us to get both sunrise and sunset experiences and photos over water. A really wonderful package

Everyone in our party had a wonderful time during our long weekend visit in April 2013. Those of us who stayed at the beach house - "Rick's Place" - found a really nice mix of luxury and cosiness (see the photos). A member of our group stayed in one of the ocean rooms in the main hotel - she enjoyed... More

Spent two nights here in May. Had a Spa Retreat room (#7) which I discovered too late had the rain shower head over the spa bath. There was no separate normal shower. This shower was not useful for me being 6' high - I had to crouch or sit in the bath to use it! Probably useful for those 4"... More

Dear Ronaldo123, Thank you for sharing your experience with the Tripadvisor community. I am pleased that you enjoyed the restaurant and our Pool bar and hope that overall, you had an enjoyable stay. To be honest, this is the first complaint we have received in regards to the height of the rain shower. Obviously being closer to the showerhead, the... More

Stayed with my wife for her 50th birthday with friends on 6/5, 7/5 & 8/5 in rooms 9 & 10. A long planned event which we were looking forward to. The good aspects are: the views, the service, particularly the downstairs pool bar including happy hour & food, the restaurant food and service and the surrounds. The average aspects are;... More

Dear Paul U, Thank you for your review of wife’s experience at Bannisters. I am pleased that her group thoroughly enjoyed the pool bar and were well looked after by our staff. Upon check out, we immediately asked our maintenance team to spend time in both rooms. I understand that having maintenance visit your room is very disruptive and I... More

I guess there are 2 things to consider, the food and the accommodation. Both were disappointing but the food more so ill start with the accommodation. We booked the luxury suite for what was to be our babymoon. Mainly because of the roman 'spa' bath. I wouldn't call it a spa. In fact the room itself while tastefully decorated was... More

Dear Sam K, Thank you for your feedback about your stay at Bannisters. We have several options suitable for expectant mothers so in order to fully address this issue I would like to speak to you directly. When... More

Although my wife and I only had one night here, it was a very enjoyable experience with a fantastic view looking North over the ocean, the room was comfortable and although modernised to today's standards, still showed its motel origins. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. We had a wonderful meal at Rick Steins with top quality seafood and... More

A nicely decorated old motel....our first floor room had a bit of a view.. not bad, but was over an entrance way so staff coming and going onto the lawn restricted our balcony privacy somewhat. No help with our heavy suitcases upstairs. I rate a good 4 star motel. Pre dinner drinks in the downstairs bar ok, but the décor... More

I was not expecting a tarted up motel. The room view from the verandah on the 1st floor was great until the groups of smokers stood on the grass underneath.
