Kinda frustrating when the inn's website says a day's available and you want to set your plans, but can't get the inn to pick up or return your calls. I can look elsewhere, but this was my desired location, and I'm not sure if they'll return my call after I book elsewhere.

This awesomely nice house contains in its inside a good number of well furnished rooms, in the classical stile. Specially you enjoy the quietness of the place, so is perfect if you're looking for a peaceful retire. If you don't, also have a very interesting alternative in the stone thrownly near beach: Taras Joyce Irish Pub, and the Ocean Mist... More

This was our 3rd year at the Admiral Dewey - an inn with a relaxing atmosphere, immaculate rooms, antique furnishings, and a full delicious breakfast. You can take a cup of coffee out to the porch and rock a bit of the morning away, head into town for the day, or take the short walk to the beach for a... More

My husband and I have been staying at the Dewey for about 15 years. We hadn't been in two years, however, and we were so happy to see that Joan was still there and the inn was in beautiful condition. Our room was the newly done over Rm. 9 which was clean, fresh and comfortable! Breakfast consisted of fresh muffins,... More

My family and I have been going to the Dewey for 10 years - now my grown children and their spouses also love the Dewey! We were there last summer for my niece's wedding and we had such a good time that we are all returning this summer. We love Joan and enjoy listeing to her stories about South County.... More

If I could have, I would have stayed at another hotel or bed and breakfast. Unless you want to get yelled at every time you pass Joan, the inn keeper, or just for someone to be plain mean to you (Guest: wow, the salads are great next door at the deli - Joan: what, like I don't know that), I... A dry, sarcastic wit is not appreciated by everyone. But if you are someone who prefers a big, old inn with unending character over a sterile cookie-cutter hotel chain, then you will probably be glad to rest your head at the Dewey, and you will probably go home smiling and chuckling about Joan's story telling and delicious warm breakfast pastries.... I wouldn't even bother staying at the Admiral Dewey Inn. I had contacted the Admiral Dewey Inn to visit a friend during a weekend in August. I had left THREE messages in the course of a week with NO RESPONSE. When I contacted them for the FOURTH time today, my voice message was interrupted with a woman's voice saying, "I'm... More
