My wife and daughter arrived at the Renaissance last week. We had made reservations over a month ago and had received the customary email confirmation. None the less, the front desk informed us that they had overbooked the hotel. More disturbing, when I suggested that sounded more like an airline response than a hotel response, I was told "oh, that... More

Stayed three nights in May for business. Location is pretty good, central to market, King Street for shopping and not far from the waterfront. Staff was not great, concierge was only mildly helpful and it seemed like you were bothering her most of the time, one of the bartenders would not stop gabbing, front desk staff forgot certain requests, etc.... The location is great if you need to be downtown. My only problem is, for such a high price, I expect a few little extras (at least bottled water in my room). I just wish they would put something in the room that says, "Glad you're here." There was no mini fridge either. I guess you pay the price for... More

The Renaissance is located a block off the beaten path so it is quiet and cozy. Helpful friendly staff, nice lobby bar and the rooms are clean and adequate. If the breakfast buffet is included in your stay that is a bonus as they do a good job. A little pricy if it is not included. Parking is in a... More

Stayed 3 nights for neice's graduation from College of Charleston. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, but at the same time it seemed genuine and not forced (the southern way/charm?). Great location within short walks to King Street, Charleston Market, waterfront, restaraunts, galleries, etc. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

How could you not love Charleston?? What a wonderful city to spend time to go back in time and explore. This hotel is a perfect location for just about everything. The staff could not be more friendly and courteous. The hotel itself is lacking in many anemities like most of the Marriott family have. It would serve them well to... More

We just got back from two nights at this hotel! The staff and service were phenomenal. No matter what, they were there to take care of your every need. We had a couple of very small glitches and they went out of their way to make us happy! Hotel was nice and clean---breakfast was very nice. The attendants out front... More

I stayed here for a conference so didn't spend much time in the hotel itself. It was a fine hotel with an average size room. There was a view of rooftops and the sides of other buildings out my window - guess that is to be expected since everything is awfully close together in that area of town. I seriously... More
