we stayed in a 3 bedroom condo. we were right on the ocean, just walk out and you were on the beach. check in was alittle confusing because you pick up keys at realty office then go check into your room. other than that, trip was great. we took grand children and they had a blast. More

Went with some friends for the first time. Unit was very nice, not fancy but nice. Every worked and the unit was clean overall. To be on the beachfront was excellent. My only real concern was the condition of the elevators they seemed to malfunction fairly regularly. But reading some of these reviews I think that the point needs to... More

When we visit the Myrtle Beach area we stay in one of three RCI time-share condo resorts. Atalaya Towers is our favorite because of the recently renovated, clean and spacious units. We have only stayed in the 19 units managed by Defender Resorts and have been more that satisfied with each of our visits. The building is right on the... More

We stayed at Atalaya Towers in mid-October and the weather was perfect. We couldn't have been happier with the unit. We were in (504) and it was furnished with very nice, sturdy furniture. The units have three bedrooms and can accommodate 8 people easily and privately. The washer and dryer are very expensive and worked wonderfully. Now my wife wants... More

We stayed here in May on an RCI exchange. After reading the reviews, I was confident that the room would be nice since it was an RCI exchange. We stayed in 1506 and enjoyed it. We decided to go back to GC in September and found a condo at Atalya for rent at a great price. I was a little... More

Defender rents the Timeshare portions of the condo resort. Those units are all very nice. There are only about 20 units available that are timeshare units. This complex is right on the beach....you only have to walk a few steps; not the long boadwalks to deal with. The view is fantastic. It is centralized for shopping and eating and Broadway... More

Atalaya Towers was fairly decent, (except advertised "high-speed internet" was pretty much non-existent), but I agree with the previous review. The only good thing about 1702 was the view! The beds were so awful you would do better sleeping on the floor...except that the carpet was so worn and disgusting I wouldn't recommend that either. The most comfortable furniture was... More

I have stayed at many places in Garden City (Water's Edge, Royal Garden, Horizon East, etc...) and usually have an exceptional time. Atalaya tower's rooms are a bit smaller and the bed in the master was terrible. The decor in our room was good and the view was beautiful. But my frustration is due to an incident that happened on... We stayed in unit 1702 and I think everything in there was from the 1950's. All furniture was completely worn out and all mattresses were horrible. Dryer vents into the unit making it about 95 degrees in there when you dry a load of towels. Mildew in the bathrooms and in the kitchen cabinets. Carpets and rugs were filthy. The... More

I stayed in one of the RCI units...room 804 to be exact. All units face the beach and the ocean is just a few steps away. You can literally throw a rock from your balcony into the ocean (but don't do that - its dangerous). I fell asleep every night listening to the waves hitting the beach. The water is... More
