My husband and I and our black lab stayed for one week at Newton Fork Ranch in Forest Haven cabin. We took advantage of their "stay six nights and seventh is free" offer. We so enjoyed the cabin; secluded, cozy, and clean. The ranch is in a great location for touring the area which we did, taking in Mt. Rushmore,... More

We chose Newton Fork for our honeymoon, and they delivered in spades! The cabin was perfect. They had thought of everything we could possibly need for our week with them. They even gave us a a very nice honeymoon gift to complete the package! This is the perfect place to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings that are the... More

Found this place by accident and boy are we happy that we did. Stayed in the Timber Haus. Absolutely beautiful and very romantic. Clean, everything we needed. The full kitchen was great and there's a little grocery store just minutes away - we cooked all our own meals. And Mary Ann was wonderful. Deer every morning and evening. Located close... More

Deer and wild turkey outside door. Very comfortable, easy access to all black hills day trips. Highly recommend. Beats any chain hotel. Grandmas house offers all the comforts of home without modern distractions, ie TV, phones, just cozy up to the wood stove with a good book and a glass of wine

We stayed in the Forest Haven cabin at Newton Fork Ranch in June 2011. We enjoyed it so much that we returned this fall with my parents and stayed four nights in the Harney View cabin. Once again, I was so impressed with the quaint, peaceful, well-equipped cabins that Newton Fork Ranch offers. And the view of Harney Peak from... More

We just returned home from our stay at Newton Fork Ranch. Everything you see and read on their website is what you get. We stayed in Grandma's Ranch House and it was nearly perfect. It was clean and comfortable. The bathtub was the only drawback but I am 6'4" 240 lbs so most things are small for me. The kitchen... More

We spent 7 days at the Newton Fork Ranch in late August/early September. This is the second visit for us there- this time we stayed in one of the newer cabins. The cabin was clean and well furnished - the front porch was an awesome place to hang out. We were within a few hundred feet of the Michelson Trail... More

This is our third year staying at Newton Forks, the best kept secret in the Black Hills! There are several cabins to select from if you book early. We stayed in the most secluded of all of them this year and it was private, quiet, clean, furnished and supplied with everything we needed! We watched the deer nestle down at... More

If you want a peaceful place to get away from the crowds and see some beautiful scenery, I would recommend Newton Fork Ranch in Hill City, SD. If consists of a group of very nice cabins set in a small valley just 1/2 mile west of Hill City. When we were there in the spring, each morning and evening there... More

My wife and I have traveled to the Black Hills at least once a year for the last 35 years. We have stayed in Rapid City, Deadwood, Custer and Spearfish. About 5 years ago we found Newton Fork Ranch and now it is our "only" place to stay in the Hills. Great cabins that have everything that you need. Upkeep... More

Although Newton Fork Ranch is very close to town our real log cabin rentals are both quiet and secluded. Our well-appointed accommodations will await you after a day of hiking and biking on the 109-mile Mickelson Trail, which runs through our property. We have a private access gate that opens directly onto the trail. If you are looking forward to some of that famous Black Hills fishing, Deerfield Lake is just up the road. And Hill City, with its many art galleries, restaurants, award-winning wineries, and gift shops is only a ten minute walk into town. But we are also known for our quiet and solitude so before your day of sightseeing begins, picture yourself lingering over a cup of coffee in the morning as whitetail deer graze in the meadow beyond. And after a day of touring, imagine curling up by a fireplace in the afternoon reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine on the deck. A truly magical experience! ... more   less
