With the Marriott branding, I was expecting much more. As the one of the other reviewers stated, it is not up to the Marriott (red) standards. If it were a Fairfield, it would be rated much higher (along with a lower price expectation). So, with that intro, here are specifics, begining with the positive: PROS - very freindly staff, and... I am not a hotel snob by any means...but I am a frequent traveller and a Marriott platinum member. I have seen many a Marriott and this is not one. It should be a courtyard. It is a 1972 Former Hyatt property that Marriott purchased and did a facelift but only on the interior and not much at that. The... More

Stayed here during the week on business. Facilities were top notch and what you would expect from Marriott. Nice lounge, and room. Breakfast and Lunch is a block walk to Petes Coffee Shop... Best grub in town!!!

When visiting the University of Tennessee, we chose the Marriott knowing the brand name would provide something dependable and comfortable. This hotel exceeded our expectations. It is situated atop a hill, just on the other side of the highway from the charming downtown area, so a car is needed to get around. But it's just next door to the Women's... More

Never stayed at this hotel but were very impressed. Although it is near the airport it was very quiet. The room was immaculate and the beds very comfortable. We had breakfast at the hotel and for 10 bucks got a made to order omelet with fresh fruit, good, coffee and a myriad of other items. Staff was extremely friendly and... More

The river-view from our room was absolutely breath-taking, beds were comfy, room very clean, staff was excellent and accommodating, buffet breakfast delicious. We stayed 1 night, but wish we could've stayed longer. Free parking, a plus! It was a short drive to our meeting @ the Conference Center. Highly recommend!

I've been coming to this hotel off and on for about 15 years. It's always been a weird environment, kind of like a 1970s concrete bunker approach to accommodations. The thing is, it really needs a total top to bottom redo to qualify as a Marriott class hotel. It's tired. Dirty. Broken down. Really does not merit having the marriot... More

I don't understand any bad reviews. Outside of the hotel is not pretty, but we weren't camping outside... Grand lobby and wonderful updated room. We were attending an event at theCivic auditorium--not only next door, but under covered walkways, and we hit a very rainy night!! We had a lovely room, very clean, riverview, luscious bedding, etc. etc. I think... More

We reserved 1 room for 1 night this past weekend so we could take our daughter to the Lady Vols softball games. We received a 1 night price of $119 (now that sounds great but remember that doesn't include taxes: city, state and county taxes add an additional $20+) which I think is a great price. Also parking is free... More

I and two other families stayed here December 17 while our daughters went to camp at the University of Tennessee. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It's a very interesting building from a kid's point of view...a big concrete triangle on the outside but warm and classy on the inside. Kids enjoyed the glass elevators. A couple of the elevators...
