I traveled to this B&B with 2 friends in sep 2010... yes 2 years and a half ago and I still have an excellent memory of our stay there. Mary and her husband were charming, we arrived after 40km walk (from Donegal town) in the night & rain and they were waiting for us, helping us dry our clothes and... More

Avalon was recommended to us by some locals in Ardara. We had a lovely stay the house was warm and welcoming, the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Mary was an excellent host and was very helpful, pointing us in the right direction for some family history research. The breakfasts were delicious. We will recommend the Avalon to anyone who is... We were made very welcome. Our room was warm and cosy and the traditional breakfast was very tasty. A choice of cereals, fruits and homemade breads were also available. We can recommend this lovely B & B. Glenties is a lovely part of the country.

Stayed here for one night while on a tour of the North and Donegal. Got 2 double rooms which were quite tiny compared to other B&Bs. Also as it was a cold autumn night the rooms were very cool and the heating wasn't turned on in the morning. Breakfast however was nice and there was a choice from the menu.... More

It was as perfect as the first time....and even better since Mary ordered some spectacular weather from up above! We GOLF (we got a great discount at a very fine course because we were staying at Avalon) and this is an outstanding location to travel north and/or south and then back to Avalon, a slice of heaven! Our only complaint... More

Stayed here while taking part in the Rás Dhun na nGal. Met the whole family over the two days and like the other reviews I have to say the are some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of staying with. Rooms were great and breakfast was top notch. I'll be going back when I'm in the area... More

I stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed every minute with this wonderful family and exploring this fabulous area. My room was immaculate with lots of fresh towels and toiletries on a daily basis, the breakfasts were plentiful and they were so tasty especially Mary Ita's home made bread but the crowning glory was the Boyle's themselves. They made me... More

We had a lovely stay at the Avalon B&B in Glenties. We felt at home immediately. Mary and Hugh even helped contact a local church whose records we needed for genealogy research, and also found a possible relative of ours who owned a local pub! The accommodations were spotlessly clean and so peaceful. The location was very convenient--only a minute's... More

We had a great stay at the Avalon B&B, the Owners Mary Ita and Martin were so hospitable. The rooms were spotless and comfortable and the choice for breakfast was brilliant. The B&B is only a stones throw from the town and within driving distance of so many beautiful places like Slieve League and Silverstrand. We would definitely stay here... More

Mary & Hugh were very welcoming and made our stay a home from home with warm hospitality and home cooking, Mary specialises in catering for coeliacs with home made gluten free scones and bread, she also gives a variety of choices for breakfast. The house is spotlessly clean with comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. I could not fault anything... More
