My spouse and I make an annual spring walking trip to this gem of a place. After a long and magical meander on the river tow-path from Goresbridge, the Waterside is located on the banks of the beautiful Barrow river in the center of the wonderful old town of Graiguenamanagh. Brian and his team always make a great welcome for... More

This restaurant has exactly that what one is hoping to find when leaving a busy city or escaping from a stressful job. Staff is very friendly, kind and funny - down to earth people who know how to chat with their customers. The food is good - especially the smoked trout which was really really nice. Location is a winner... More

Lovely historic town with beautiful scenery and great walks. Super B+B, more like a hotel with a breakfast that will keep you going all day.

Very friendly staff and a lovely location. Unfortunately the floor and the bed spread in our room were both very damp. It got so cold in the middle of the night that we had to use the bed spread anyway and now I have a cold!

I stayed at the Waterside recently. It is the first time I have been to a b&b alone,my husband can no longer travel. I went to Graiguenamangh as our favourite tenor,Anthony Kearns, was in a concert there .I thoroughly enjoyed the concert in the Abbey, and my stay in this beautiful town was made complete by having such a great guesthouse to... Stayed for a weekend kayaking trip on the River Barrow. The kayakiing was fabulous - the river is beautiful and the Waterside is a great location - you little tie up and walk in the door to a hot shower. The quay is very quiet and more part of the river life than the town life. The rooms are a... More

We were warmly welcomed by the owners, and shown to our room overlooking a delightful river, The room was comfortable and clean. The food was a very high standard, and all the staff were very pleasant and obliging, and full of local knowledge. The village is very quiet but is an excellent base for touring in the area. We consider... More

We just returned from a week in Ireland and the highlight was our night in Graiguenamanagh at the Waterside Guesthouse. The town of about 1300 people is 30 minutes from Kilkenny but light years away in terms of charm and beauty. The guesthouse, a converted 19th century stone corn storage house, is set on the banks of the River Barrow... More
