I have been to this hotel many times and have found it to be a great base for exploring the surrounding area. This time, I stayed there with no car and enjoyed the walks, wildlife and the general peace and tranquility. The hotel was, as usual, very comfortable, I had booked a single room but this would have easily accommodated... More

Just a line as we didn’t stay here as the hotel was booked out, but on bank holiday Monday we had a late lunch sitting outside on the deck. A trio of fish salad…it was so good. The sun was shining and all seemed well in the world. We had walked to the upper lake so had a decent appetite... More

This was a hotel all about location. We booked it to be right in the middle of Glendalough, just where we wanted to be. We expected the hotel to be a decent country hotel- and it was. Yes, it is old fashioned and a bit shabby round the edges but the staff were friendly, the food was good and the... More

We stayed there for May Day weekend and I really don't know what people are complaining about! It's lovely old-fashioned hotel. We enjoyed the stay very much, staff were very friendly and it just couldn't be closer to Glendalough Valley. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, and so was the breakfast. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful old world hotel in a fantastic setting. Beautiful walks which allow you to come back tired to the comfort of a home from home. Fantastic atmosphere in the old style pub/bar, beautiful views overlooking Glendalough from the main Restaurant window and comfortable rooms combined with friendly helpful staff and fantastic homely food make for a wonder place to spend... Stayed here twice and have to say that the hotel seriously needs renovation big time! Both times I stayed - I got a room with a dirty mucky carpet, bouncy bed and overall shabby. When I moved rooms, I was put in an equally shabby room, but I was just using it for a base for hiking Glendalough so I... More

Stayed here for just one night. Although the hotel is a bit dated I would have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room cost was €70.00 which included breakfast and dinner. Eight of us had dinner in the restaurant and we all agree the meal was excellent. The staff were very pleasant and couldn't have been more helpful.... More

We were a bit put off by some of the reviews of the Glendalough Hotel, but went with an open mind. The hotel is dated and there is a bit of wear and tear, but it is one of the homeliest hotels I have ever stayed in. The breakfast service was great. We ate in the restaurant and couldn't find... I stayed in this hotel for a weekend. The service was very slow at dinner, I had to wait 40 mins for my main course, not to mention the fact that the waitress FORGOT my breakfast and another hour to wait for a hard boiled egg... But the fact that not only I paid in cash, but they had to... More

I stayed for one night in the Glendalough Hotel, with my husband and a few family members, to celebrate my birthday. It was in February and it was a snowy weekend in the valley. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning we went for long walks through the valley, which is one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. It was... More
