My husband and I stayed at this hostel for three nights in Aug 12. It was clean, peaceful with a fully equipped kitchen. We had booked a double room with attached bathroom. The room was okay but the mattress was quite uncomfortable. Location of the hostel is ideal for hiking in Glendalough. Staff was friendly and they have a lot... More

On the plus side, the kitchen is clean and the staff are friendly. However the 5 star rating given to this hostel by An Oige is not deserved. The bedroom had a musty smell, muck on the carpets which were not hoovered and it looked like only some of the bedding was being washed after each person. The shower button... More

We stayed at this hostel during a week of hiking the Wicklow Way. We were greeted by friendly staff. The grounds were beautiful and I was really glad to have a kitchen to use for making my own dinner, breakfast and packed lunch for the next day as we were travelling on a budget! The kitchen and dining room were... More

Very good hostel. Warm rooms, with hot water all the time. I'm subtracting the 1 star for the showers, although clean, are seriously lacking in power - but they do the job. Staff were ok. Location is perfect for basing an exploration of Glendalough, Glenmalure etc. and is very good value for money.

I stayed here back in March 2012 and had a great time. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly and helpful and even let me use their own kitchen when I had not even checked in yet. Kind and polite is how I would describe the staff. You are also right on the doorstep of the national park and some awesome... More

Stayed here for one night. The beds were comforable but the room was small and very basic and not very clean. The lobby was nice and relaxing and the self-catering kicten was good. The location was excellent. But some of the staff were unfriendly, rude and it felt like they didnt want us there. I would go back to Glendalough... More

I would say "yes". I spent there three nights. I arrived in the afternoon being exhausted after >20 km walk in hills under heavy rain and got warm reception. The dorm was large enough (6 beds), the heater was on (it saved my life and my clothes), they also have a laundry (haven't used it however) and a small drying... More

Big, nice and clean hostel ideally located by the lake. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Trish and her daughter who were very kind to me. I'll definitely come back to spend some relaxing time in the cosy atmosphere of the hostel. Paul's frog.

During our Wicklow Way hike, we stayed the 3rd night here. We had a large private room with bunk beds and a tidy bathroom. Breakfast is OK. It's a very friendly B&B with excellent service (luggage and dinner reservation) Kindly recommended (great quiet location).

We had a private room and it was typical for a hostel with bunk beds and a tiny bathroom. We expected noise, but it was pretty quiet past about 10.30pm. We were given sheets for the beds and were glad we'd remembered to pack some soap for the handbasin. It's a very friendly place and has a superb location if... More
