Myself and my other half stayed here for a few nights in April. I will start with the positives...the lodge itself is absolutely beautifully decorated, we loved the old books, artwork and general ambience of the place. Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. We had the option of staying next door to the Wicklow Heather restaurant (who own... More

Stayed at this beautiful lodge for 2 nights in May and I was very impressed. Decorated to a very high standard with beautiful pieces of furniture I wouldn’t mind at home and access to information on local wildlife. The double room we stayed in was located on the ground floor over looking the valley, the views were stunning & you... More

This place was absolutely beautifully decorated and comfortable. Two large gathering areas, beautiful grounds and spacious rooms. And the owner's restaurant (heather)was just as fantastic. You have to see the wicklow mountains and stay at this place.

My husband and I stayed here on our first anniversary trip to Ireland. The lodge is lovely, with a nice garden that I wish we'd been able to spend more time in. Our room was smaller, but very clean and cozy, with a view of the garden. We also ate at the restaurant in the downtown area of Laragh, which... More

We wanted to take our American friends to see Glendalough and stay in a B&B. The Trooperstown Lodge Wood do an excellent weekday deal; B&B and evening meal for Euro 59 per person per night. We were met at the door by Erica who is friendly, charming and an absolute delight! Nothing was too much trouble, a turf fire, fresh... More

We spent 2 days there right before St Patrick´s day. We took the bus from Dublin that dropped us of at Wicklow Heather Restaurant in Laragh. We got there later than expected but the staff at the restaurant was really flexible, and they made us a nice dinner and checked us in right at the restaurant. After a huge and... More

After the long flight from Los Angeles to Dublin, this fine lodge in the Wicklows provided a comfortable and relaxing retreat to recover and begin our travels through the Emerald Isle. With the breakfast/restaurant down the road towards Glendalough, we could not just walk out of our room for our morning meal. The staff at the lodging was not as... More

We stayed here with friends last fall. Comfortable rooms and very clean. We stayed at the lodge just down the road from the breakfast / restaurant section of the B & B. 5 minutes from Glendalough. Young woman who lives and works at the lodge was a gem. Betty the proprietress was great. One of our party was ill and... More
