We had a wonderful stay; a magical place, bathed in warm English sunshine when we were there and we could lounge luxuriously by the pool and drink cocktails provided by Maureen. A little piece of English heaven, fantastic rooms, all the privacy you need and an incredibly helpful team totally focussed on making your stay exceptional. This place is above... More

Maureen went out of her way to ensure that our stay at Tor Cottage was totally hassle free - she had even booked us into the restaurants that she thought would suit us - and she was right!! We both enjoyed ourselves enormously and are definite Tor Cottage fans. We stayed in the Country Craftsman room and found it really... More

We arrived to freshly baked scones for our Devonshire cream teas (or a glass of wine if we preferred) and the friendliest of welcomes from Maureen and Vince (the loveliest Retriever you'll meet). Laughing Waters was fantastic with it's private woodland walk and stream. We saw Deer, Rabbits, Pheasants etc...The breakfasts were amazing and the staff couldnt do enough for... More

Beautiful comfortably furnished garden room with extravagent breakfasts and wonderfully friendly Maureen and staff. A quiet paradise in 28 acres of unspoilt contryside to enjoy. Coffe and cake to welcome you and Vince the dog to spoil. You won't find anywhere better! More

Found this place to be relaxing, tranquil and just what myself and partner needed. We stayed in Laughing Waters which has a lovely verander with rocking chair, its own walk, bbq area and plenty of space to relax in. Maureen and her team were really helpful with recommending and booking local restaurants, suggesting nearby days out and even sharing the... More

My partner and i stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful relaxing time. Nothing was too much trouble for Maureen and her helpful staff - including making sure we had booked somewhere nice for supper each night (best for us was the Harris Arms, which had an exceptional wine list!). Great breakfast, loads of fresh fruit, homemade muesli... More

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful and tranquil location. The accommodation was wonderful with lots of attention to detail. Loved having a little hospitality area with a fridge, crockery etc so we could keep wine chilled and have snacks on our private patio outside. Maureen and her staff go out of their way to make the stay special. Enjoyed making friends... More

This was not our first visit to Tor Cottage and it definitely won't be the last. From the moment we arrived, as always, Maureen Rowlatt made us feel totally relaxed, welcome and spoilt, and that feeling continued throughout our stay. Her staff are all so friendly and ready to help with plenty of smiles. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble.... More

The themed cottage suites are beautifully decorated and sited mainly by a stream or a field. We had the picnic platter on the first night to go with the Cava, fruit and chocolate truffles provided - all of them delicious. The rooms were spotless and the toiletries abundant. Walks started from your door into the glorious Devon countryside. Breakfast was... More

Stayed here for three night break in the Cottage Wing. Maureen and Ann (Vince too!) are wonderful....couldn't do enough to help, nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted on a rainy evening with nibbles and glass of red wine. Breakfast is magnificent. It just keeps coming! All sorts of fresh fruits, homemade museli, full english, salmon, scrambled eggs, fresh... More
