If you are looking for a national chain type of hotel look elsewhere.This an old building with creaky floors and squeaky doors old furniture eccentric plumbing and all the better for it. We stayed at The Crown with our 2 dogs whilst visting relatives in Minehead. The owners could not have made us feel more welcome. I visited this hotel on a two night stay, mainly becaus of the `so called` excellence. On arrival I had to search for someone to book me in, after ringing the bell I eventualy found someone in the bar. I was given my key and pointed in the direction of the room; no offer of help with the luggage etc.... More

Stayed here recently for one night. It's a lovely hotel in a beautiful town. Great beer and great food. The owners couldn't have been more pleasant if they tried. Thoroughly recommended. And, if you're interested, they allow dogs.
