Stayed at the hotel in march 2012. Found the hotel set in beautiful surroundings which was a great back drop for a lovely building. The staff were so friendly from the moment we arrived to the second we left. Making us comfortable and looking after all our needs and some more. The rooms were delightful and very clean. Greeted by... More

After two pretty indifferent experiences at Limewood and the Pig, how refreshing to return to a hotel which understands what the business is all about. Excellent food and a lovely ambience which is so rare nowadays. If you want a spa don't go the Stock Hill. If you want excellent food, immaculately served I know of few, if any places... More

Set in one of England’s most beautiful and interesting counties this country house hotel offers a tranquil setting, feel at home hospitality and food to die for. The comfortable interior is packed with a wide range of antiques and each en-suite bedroom is unique in style from that of its neighbours in both the main house and the Coach House.... More

What a place. Tucked away up a winding driveway is a 'not so little' hidden treasure in the Dorset countryside. Recommended to me by other friends we were immediately blown away by the service which I can only describe as 'proper old school', the likes of which I've not experienced before - anywhere! They certainly have some wacky décor, but... More

We have visited this hotel several times in recent years and have found that standards never vary. Service is always excellent and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and of good size and several have been recently refurbished. The restaurant serves excellent food provided by a skilled chef/patron using mostly local produce some of which is grown on site. The hotel... More

This time back into room 3 which has recently been redecorated and partially refurnished. The standard of service throughout this small hotel is superb. What a pleasure it is to find beds made by our return from breakfast and bathroom tidied during dinner. Dinner is always the highlight of any stay at Stock Hill with a constantly changing menu and... Stock Hill is a large Victorian house converted to a hotel, run with a personal touch by Nita and Peter Hauser, experienced hoteliers. Peter is the chef and Nita looks after 'front of house'. Her three lady assistants are closely supervised and the high level of service achieved in waiting, cleaning and hosting really shows as a result. Accommodation here... More

This hotel is a hidden gem! The level of service is excellent and the food, which has an Austrian influence, is simply superb. The hotel is a Victorian mansion run by the owners Peter and Nita Hauser. Nita is front of house and Peter with Lorna, Nita's sister, the chefs. Our choice is always small, high quality hotels with excellent... More

For the past 20 years this has been our favourite watering hole. Its a shame that it's nearly 200 miles to get to it, but that makes the anticipation of our next visit all the more enjoyable. This tranquil oasis in the beautiful county of Dorset is a heaven to escape to from the rat race. Hospitality is excellent, always... More
