Marlagh lodge is the perfect country retreat just outside Ballymena. The Blue room we stayed in was very comfortable enjoying a four poster bed and ensuite bathroom. Robert the owner could not have been anymore helpful and the breakfast was delicious! I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break. Marlagh lodge itself is a stunning property dating back... More

From the moment we arrived to the minute we left, we could not have been made to feel more welcome! The lovely old house was full of character with very well appointed bedrooms. Pre dinner drinks in the sitting room by the big open fire was so pleasant in the unseasonably cold weather, and then the food was out of... More

We stayed at Marlagh lodge for wedding in Ballymena and it was perfect. From our welcome by Tertia the 14 year old resident cat (who I still talk about!) to the super Ulster fry in the morning - we couldn't have found better. Robert is a very welcoming host and I was especially grateful to him for letting me have... More

We stayed at Marlagh Lodge in October and feel we have to comment on our outstanding experience. Having read all the positive reviews on here we did not hesitate to book Marlah Lodge for our forthcoming visit to Ireland. We stayed for five nights and have to say we were not disappointed in any way. Our comments echo all those... More

Beautiful house, clearly lovingly restored. Don't be put off by the word 'chintz!' It might not be what you would chose for your own home, but the room was tastefully decorated and immaculately clean - as was the rest of the house. Despite the arctic temperatures outside, I had a toasty warm and comfortable night, and the most amazing breakfast... More

The atmosphere was wam and inviting, the house has been thoughtfully restored and looks fantastic (and spotlessly clean). I had an excellent nights sleep and the breakfast (smoked salmon with scrambled egg) was superb! I only stayed one night as I was on a business trip but I look forward to returning to the Marlagh Lodge and exploring the area.

Myself and my wife recently spent a lovely relaxing couple of nights in this beautiful country house. Our host Robert was very gracious (and a great cook to boot!) and gave us the fascinating history of the house. We relaxed with wine and an open fire and there were myriad books and magazines to leaf through on Irish country life.... More

Part of the "Hidden Ireland" experience, Marlagh Lodge was a wonderful treat! This lovely manor house is hidden away near Ballymena, easy to find with the provided directions despite no advertising sign. Robert was a great host, running things on his own while Rachel was away on a concert tour. From the moment we crossed the threshold we knew that... More

We stayed 2 nights at Marlagh Lodge in July. The Blue Room was elegant and comfortable, with many pampering touches. Breakfast was delicious and imaginative. The highlight was the attention Robert gave in helping us plan our sightseeing - the "wee road" he recommended to the Giant's Causeway was far more fun than the major road we had planned to... More

Cannot say enough to describe this fantastically and symapthetically renovated Country House bed and breakfast establishment. The service was absolutely faultless, fantastic breakfast served with a good selection of home-made breads along with traditional and continental options. Stayed in the Print Room, with brilliant furnishings, extremely large king size bed, (needed a search party to find the wife!) as well... More
