Staying with a party of 6 on a golfing break. All meals taken at the Aberdour were excellent and really good value for money. The staff were all really nice and helpful and the rooms were clean, spacious and just what we needed. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. More

I came with a party of six for a Saturday lunch. We booked a table in advance and on our arrival they were ready for us and were accommodating on where we would like to sit. We chose from the daily specials, main and kids menu. All of the food was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and very tasty. The staff were... More

The Aberdour Hotel is a cosy and comfortable hotel without pretensions. The rooms are pleasant, the staff and owners are friendly and helpful and the bar has good beer and a strong presence of locals, which is always a good sign. There were no frills or gimmicks but was welcoming and homely. More

Dream trip turned into expensive nightmare! I unfortunately booked the Aberdour Hotel in Fife instead of the Aberdour in Dumfries. On arrival in Dumfries we were told we had no booking. We were booked into Aberdour Fife by mistake. After sorting mistake we stayed in Dumfries, thinking all was well until I got my credit card statement. The Aberdour Hotel... More

If a customer was to turn up at the airport for a flight to Malaga to find out they had booked a flight to Malta they would need to buy a new flight and bear the cost. If is very unfortunate that this mistake was made however our cancellation policy is clear and stated at time of booking. We would... More

Went to the Aberdour for a valentine meal, when the waitress came to clear the plates from the table she asked if we enjoyed our meal, i replied that my wife enjoyed her meal but i did not enjoy mine. we then went to the lounge bar and again we were asked by the (manager or owner I think) if... I was concerned to hear you did not enjoy your meal on your last visit. Feed back is very important to us so it is great you took the time to let us know things were not quite right. It allows us to look at what we are doing and take steps to rectifiy areas that need work. I hope... More

Birthday lunch for six. King scallops with Stornaway black pudding fritters, followed by the most tender blade of beef (unusual cut eh?) with bashed neeps and creamed local potatoes, and then a wonderful homemade sticky toffe pudding served with homemade vanilla ice cream. Such a pleasant surprise and beyond my expectations. More

Very warm welcome, friendly attentive staff, good quality food, perfectly cooked. Good atmosphere in the bar. The room we had was spacious, clean and comfortable. Parking in the couryard is a bit tight, so I left the car parked overnight on the road, opposite the hotel, without any real concerns. My wife had an interesting and enjoyable day meandering around... More

I have stayed at the Abourdour hotel more times than I can remember. It is friendly and welcoming and I even get a card from them at Christmas time! The rooms are small-ish but are clean and comfortable. Staff are generally very helpful, although the inexperience of one or two of the younger staff members is sometimes apparant. For example,... I'd actually rate this hotel 'good', but not having this option, it's definitely 'very good' rather than 'average'! However, I have to say this will depend on which room you get! We travelled with two other couples - we stayed in the more modern rooms behind the main pub/hotel, and when we saw the other rooms were very relieved! Ours... More
