The people are friendly and helpful. I had arrived with a suitcase of wet clothes, caused by an airline. They allowed me into their laundry and assisting with my emergency, so I could enjoy the rest of my trip. Not the most modern, but it's a bed and breakfast of historical presence. All the modern convenience there, clean and functioning.... More

We had a room with a great view out over the harbor. Good breakfasts and try dinner at Arran on a Plate. Parking is tight but there is also parking available on the street in front. This B&B has beautiful landscaping with many different flowers and a small fountain.

i cannot agree with other reviews, the accommodation is in need of an update, and currently looks and feels very 1960's. Landlady is very nice and friendly, but the landlord ?? . we happened upon our landlord at the restaurant " Arran on a Plate " we thought it was their son's restaurant ,but maybe not.. What an obnoxious person,he will know... More

Lest any other visitors should be disappointed, we would point out that, while much of our furniture is modern, some dates back, not to the 60's, but much, much further. In our dining room guests eat breakfast while sitting on antique Jacobean or Cromwellian chairs, with other furniture matching the age of the house, built in 1920. More

Myself and my mate stayed at the Belvedere for one night. I had booked the hotel though Late Rooms, and un beknown to me at the time I had accidently booked twice due to my computer crashing. When the ferry docked we took a slow walk up to the hotel, when we arrived Chris asked why there wasn't four of... More

Management response:

As with all our bookings, we wrote to Jamie confirming his two bookings, so there was no excuse for him failing to realise he had booked two different rooms for four people. We asked him to call LateRooms to cancel the unwanted room and although entitled to charge for this, we did not. Having turned away another booking I was... More

the hosts chris and Jan were most welcoming and accomodating during our trip. They took the extra care of providing soya milk in the mornings. Very comfy guest house, each room had little home comforts such as electric blankets if you felt cold, the view from the room was spectacular. I would definately stay again

Can only confirm reviews of most previous postings about this guest house.Only had the one overnight stay here & absolutly no problems.Little bit of a hike / walk from the ferry pier,up a brae & along a raised crescent that runs parallel with the shore road that could mean a taxi for elderly ?.But this also means it allows for... We stayed two nights at the Belvedere, the room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was also great, especially the vegetarian "sausage"- a special recipe! We were also able to check out later than normal and very much appreciate the flexibility. Our evening meal at "Arran on a Plate" on the second night was also highly recommended!
