Excellent, central location for exploring sites of interest. Very welcoming, everso friendly staff, nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and our room overlooked loch-stunning. Fresh local food and yummy homebaking on offer with excellent service. Despite buzz of guests from coaches there was an 'easy' pace which is unique to island. Nothing was bother and will definitely return.

Had lunch at the Standing Stones Hotel while visiting the stone age sites. I ordered a hot baguette which was delicious. The service was fine but took a while for food to come out. Nice contempary decor. Overall a good place to stop for a bite to eat.

We used it as a base to explore the Orkneys for which it was perfect. It is near to the major megalithic sites and on the shores of a lake. The staff were generally helpful and friendly. The food was adequate. The place was reasonably clean and tidy.
