I live in London and was looking for a perfect country getaway. The dundonal Hotel was the most welcoming place and the traditional celtic and folk music in the bar made the experiance quite magical. i will definatly be returning to this frendly hotel with its beautiful surroundings and great music and atmosphear.

Bit like the Marie Celeste, that should have been enough warning! Room was habitable unless you expect to get hot water in the washbasin because there was none, even if it was allowed to run for ages! The dining room was closed in the evening, food was served in the bar. A choice of baked potatos, toasties etc, but nothing... More

Some years ago, my wife and I stayed, and used the bar and restraunt on several occasions; and at the time the hotel was the center for "locals" with a busy bar. Also attended a large wedding reception there which was splendid. At the end of August 2011, was staying with family at their local house ; I booked in for... More

We came to spend a long weekend here for a large family and friends gathering and we had a wonderful time. The hotel suited us all from the well travelled to those on a budget, the food was excellent, the staff professional and friendly and the location was out of this world. The staff showed enormous flexibility and a sense... More

This quiet hotel, in a beautifull surroundings of the loch, is a perfect place to spend more days to discover the area from dundonnell to inverness and to ullapool, We liked the hotel, the employees at our breakfast were very kind and the breakfast was ok Allthough the room was not properly cleaned(dust on some furniture in he room),i enjoyed... We have just spent 6 days here and had a really wonderful time. It was warm and welcoming and ideally situated for exploring a delightful area. Our room had a great view westwards and was spacious and comfortable, the food was fantastic (especially the haddock and chips and the sticky toffeee pudding) and the staff were helpful and friendly. We... More

Beautifull setting on one of the most glorious roads in the world. The hotel is average at best overpriced and decidedly dated. Local music is very poor and evening meals overpriced. Breakfast however is excellent. You wont hear many scottish accents get confirmation of price when booking. The Hotel feels as if it lacks investment due to lack of trade... More

I was supposed to stay at a yoga retreat down the road, and by some fate, I ended up at the Dundonnell Hotel. At first glance it is a simple place. But the moment you are greeted by the hosts, you know you have come to the right place. The service is beyond and the staff are exceptionally friendly. And... More

The setting of Dundonnel hotel is fabulous, on the side of a beautiful loch and positioned at one end of the classic An Teallach traverse. The owners and staff are very friendly but it was irritating that the serving staff struggled with understanding English. This resulted in lengthy negotiations if any deviation was required from the menu. It also resulted... More

I would like to thank all our visitors for their positve remarks and to thank them for thier honest reviews. At this early stage in the Season our seasonal staff have only been with us for a matter of weeks, thier spoken English is developing and it never ceases to amaze me how very quickly they learn our language however... After being refused accommodation and/or food countless times in Western Scotland, we finally found just what we were looking for in The Dundonnell Hotel. Our enquiry about traveling with a child and a dog was met with a welcome affirmative, and when we arrived we found the whole place was immaculately clean, with a relaxed feeling that suited the mood...
