We have just returned from another shearing holiday to strathpeffer. Staying at the highland hotel. The hotel is situated in a beautiful setting. We had incredible views from our room. The room was fine, warm comfortable. The menu was varied and the food was good both at breakfast and the evening meal. The dining room staff were excellent and nothing... More

We spent three nights here in May. Our first impression was how friendly and courteous the staff were. The room was vey comfortable but a little bit warm for us as the heating seemed to be on for quite a long time. We found the food to be extremely good, well cooked and served by a very nice Latvian girl... More

This was the third time we have stayed in the Highland hotel. The hotel is in a wonderful position overlooking the town of Strathpeffer. The bedrooms are warm and clean and we found the beds comfy. The staff were very helpful, it was nice to see familiar faces from our other visits. Could not fault the food both at breakfast... More

Just arrived back from a long weekend at this hotel which has a fine wide grand staircase that gives the hotel a palatial feel. The dining room used during our stay was quite large with lots of wood panelling and as usual with Shearings hotels the food was varied and tasty, breakfast consisted of help yourself to cereals, grapefruit, prunes,... We have just returned from a four night stay at the Highland with Shearings. Yes the hotel is a little tired in places but represents excellent value for money and it has a good atmosphere. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The food was nice and the dining room staff very good. It wasn't high end cuisine... More

The hotel is a typical Bay Hotel, nice dining room and food, but there are areas that are tired and need attention. The bedroom was clean and comfortable but dated , and the absence of a shower in the bathroom was a bad point. There were wooden exterior steps on the lawn which were cordoned off because they needed attention,... More

Many thanks for leaving your review. Great to hear you enjoyed the food and service. We have already upgraded 12 bedrooms this year and this is a ongoing process. The steps at the front of the hotel had to closed for safety reason however there are still lots of other scenic walks round the area. Kind Regards Alastair. More
