Phil and Sarina and 'Mum' are the lovely people who run this hotel. Every room is focussed on a different kind of crystal and is painted in colours to match. I stayed in the Rose Quartz room which is light, spacious, has a massive bed and bay windows that overlook Strathpeffer and the surrounding hills. The hotel is very dog... More

MeisV, thankyou for taking the time to write your review. We are quite unique in Strathpeffer from the crystal related decor, Mauritian food that reflects our heritage ( we have the only Mauritian restaurant in Scotland) and a range of complementary therapies. Whilst it is great that you enjoyed all of these customers do not have to be interested in... More

LOCATION 100m from centre of Strathpepper so very near newsagent and supermarket. Lovely village overlooked by moors. ROOMS I stayed in the Rose Quartz room which was very pleasant, traditionally decorated, large and bright with two armchairs before big windows with great views over the village and to the moors. Very comfortable bed, bath and shower with plenty of hot... More

Sarina and I use reviews as a way of constantly improving our service. It is great to hear that we we acheived a good balance of warmth of welcome and privacy. Thank you Mark. Our food is home cooked and whether it is a traditional breakfast or our speciality Mauritian cuisine the attention to quality is the same. We believe... More

We booked for the first weekend in January. We were the only guests in the hotel, though the bar and restaurant attracted visitors on the Friday and Saturday evenings. There are eight or nine rooms in total, and they are all different (we peeked into the empty rooms!) - tastefully and elegantly decorated. Phil and Sarina were very welcoming and... More

We booked a table in the restaurant for a family birthday dinner for 7. On arrival we were welcomed into the main bar lounge area where we enjoyed a drink by the open fire and ordered our meals. Dinner was served in the main dining room which also had a lovely warm fire, sparkling lights, candles on the table and... More

This is a very friendly hotel with an atmosphere that I can only describe as happy and welcoming . Phil and Sarina are a little alternative which adds to the charm of this lovely old Victorian building. They could not have done more to make us feel at home. The Mauritian food is worth trying out and mother makes a marvellous... More

A very warm welcome from Phil and Sarina was the start of a gorgeous three days at the Richmond Hotel. We were offered the Rose Quartz room, which is beautifully created with two armchairs offering stunning views across the glen. Very close to the Village centre and with easy access to the surrounding hills. The traditional Mauritian food is definitely... More

Thank you, the Rose Quartz room is my favourite bedroom in the hotel and not just becuase Rose Quartz is the crystal of unconditional love. So happy that you liked the Mauritian food, as far as we know we are the only place outside of London that has such a menu. Ours has the benefit of being truely authentic as... More

I visited Crystal House Retreat at the Richmond Hotel last week, I cannot praise the hotel enough. The en suite room was spacious and clean, with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside, and a beautiful four poster bed :-) Hosts Sarina and Phil are warm, friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. Whether you take advantage of the holistic... More

Thank you, it is lovely to know that people appreciate our warm and welcoming nature. Comfortable bed with ensuite bath/shower overhead. No central heating in the room so I'm glad it wasn't later in the year. No tv in the room so if that's important to you take note. Good breakfast choice.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while on holiday in Scotland. The hotel is comfortable and well maintained. It is almost in the centre of Strathpeffer, just up the hill from the town square. It is a small hotel with around half a dozen rooms and is mercifully free of the coach tour trade that dominates most of... More
