We recently ate in the restaurant and the food was really very good. My starter of black pudding and blue crab cake was lovely but the duck in ginger and orange sauce was delightful. The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was good. We were a party of 6 and we all left the restaurant very happy, satisfied people

Four of us arrived on bicycles after a 35.5mile cycle, against a headwind, from Tarbert on South Harris. I was prepared to be disappointed when I saw the hotel from the outside! However, The Cabarfeidh Hotel proved to be a good find. Fortunately were were staying two nights! We arrived tired and wet but we were immediately given a friendly... More

I stayed here for two nights, arriving on the late ferry I believe I was the last guest to check in. Reception welcomed me by name and ensured I could still have dinner, even had a large glass of wine waiting on me when I came down after dropping bags into my room. Food lovely, staff lovely, room lovely! Some... More

Another long day travelling from Mallaig on the Ulsterbus Outer Hebrides tour. The hotel was lovely, a wee bit out of Stornoway but very welcoming. Staff boarded the coach with great welcome and envelope for each passenger containing room details. The room was well appointed with more than adequate space, nice en suite and very comfortable beds. We stayed over... More

We stayed here because our ferry had technical difficulties and was cancelled, so we needed somewhere to stay overnight that was close to the ferry terminal. It really wasn't nice. The bathroom was in need of updating and not especially clean (someone else's hair in the bath and on the shower curtain - YUK!!!). The bedroom had dusty corners too... More

Staff very friendly, room was good and clean though not exceptional in anyway, the food was very good. Overall the hotel was looking a little past it's best but I noted that there was some work going on so maybe that will tidy it up. I had a large room with a double and single bed, large TV, tea and... More

Stayed here for one night while on the Island for business. Our room was spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. The lounge area had a welcoming fire on the go and the restaurant looked as if it had recently been modernised. Food was up and down, first attempt was horrible, but in fairness to them they has stopped serving and were... More

I stayed at this hotel when I was in Stornoway on business. It’s quite difficult to review it as it was such a mix of good and poor elements hence the three star rating. On the positive side, the staff were really lovely. Very helpful and they showed a real willingness to offer good service. The food was also lovely.... More

Booked this hotel for a business trip and it turned out to be a fabulous choice, the room had all the extras that you normally would only get if you upgrade your room, including a trouser press & fresh fruit. I used the Restaurant for my evening meal which was first class, also the breakfast was excellent which included the world... More

I have stayed at the Caberfeidh on numerous occasions over the years. However, my latest stay was probably the best by far. I stayed here on a business trip for two nights in March 2013. The rooms are modern, bright clean and comfortable without being overly luxurious or ostentatious. The best thing about the stay this time, however, was the... More
