We booked the kitchen table and ended up sharing with another couple show enjoyed the evening as much as we did. The setting itself is great. I prefer it to the main restaurant which is very staid and dark. The kitchen is surrounded by windows thus is bright until well past 10pm. Service was amazing and the entire staff from... More

Great company, lovely setting, the meal was nice but nothing extraordinary. The staff were polite and cordial - the Dutch waiter especially deserves a mention (sorry didn't get a name) - but on the whole I wouldn't rate the experience as being truly memorable which is a shame. We came with our Australian friends who chose Skye for the specific... More

The 3 Chimneys was once a ground breaking restaurant, opening on Skye when most of the food that was available in restaurants was pretty close to dire. So this breath of fresh air developed a reputation for quality local produce, well presented and its reputation spread. Unfortunately it has become a bit of a caracture of its self and has... More

After watching great British menu I decided to book the restaurant. Opted for the 7 course tasting menu which takes over three hours to eat. All the fish courses were fantastic and the soufflé was outstanding. Wasn't fussed on the venison dish but all the other courses made up for it. The wine reccomendation was good. Really enjoyed my meal.... More

We had wanted to stay here for quite a long time but unfortunately, it lived up to some of our expectations but not others. On the plus side, the rooms are truly luxurious and equipped with everything you could ever want. Needless to say, the setting is spectacular. Our welcome was warm and we were offered a welcome afternoon cup... More

Modern rooms (maybe a little too modern for such a scenic surroundings) and a very good restaurant to return back to after a long day touring Skye. We did the tasting menu the first night and ordered a la carte the second, this was much more enjoyable for us. The staff is sweet and helpful. A lovely water view in... More

Having read the commendations listed on the restaurant's own website and some of the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor, I had high expectations for lunch at the Three Chimneys. Whilst generally very good, the overall experience was slightly disappointing. My main course, wood pigeon with tattie scones and rhubarb, was nice but the rhubarb was slightly too tart and it should... More

A great setting of course, up in the northern corner of Skye, but we (4) thought the restaurant experience wasn't quite what it was cracked up to be: excellent local fish and bird (wood pigeon) dishes, if a little fussy and not as well-put together as the near-michelin level we were told about. Wine markups really excessive, in the £40+... More

We had been on a touring holiday in the Western Isles with another couple. Our friends see themselves as foodies, therefore knew of the restaurant, and had made a lunch booking some weeks before. Wow – we were truly wowed! From the moment we arrived at this wonderful location – we were welcomed by courteous and friendly staff, who went... More

As this was our first time in Skye, I thought I would treat my girlfriend to a birthday dining experience at the Three Chimneys. After hearing so many good reviews I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint. The setting was idealic, with lovely scenery and was just what we needed after a few days of walking the hills and seeing... The rooms have wonderful sea views and breakfasts are served in the Morning Room with its panorama across the loch, where seals can be seen clearly on frequent occasions.
