I stayed at this hostel for 4 nights, it was great. HUGE kitchen with views over the harbor with endless pots and pans and fridges, which is crucial because restaurants are scarce, expensive and close early, though i had a great brie boar burger at the cafe nearby. Glad you were impressed. We couldn't offer budget pricing and 24hr hot radiators at the same though we try. Wi-Fi is broadcast throughout the village by Highland Wi-FI. Passkey is needed after 10pm. Staff on site overnight for emergencies only. But thank you NAER85 for taking the time to post such a useful review. More

We have asked TripAdvisor to treat this review as suspiscious. We have no record of a group of 25 staying in June, 2011. Nor has any U.S. group discussed regular visits. Any extra costs (breakfast £2.50, internet £2.50, towel hire 50p) are agreed before we confirm bookings. Access keys are not charged for. I cannot believe such an unhappy guest... More

“Great Stay”

This hostel is great and is centrally located in Portree - right next to the bus station. The staff were very nice and helpful. There is a very large clean kitchen. This hostel had its own charm - each room was colourful decor, which was pretty neat.

This hostel has everything a budget traveller looks for. The place is nicely decorated, it's vibrant colours make it friendly and welcoming. The well equipped kitchen, the rooms and bathrooms were all spotlessly clean when we stayed there. We slept in a 6 bed dorm and could fit in comfortably with all our bags. We've been looking for accomodation for hours and finally got to Portree. The hostel is located in the village centre, It's cheap, the reception guy is very friendly, it's very clean comparing to other hostels, has massive dining kitchen, a few showers and a few washing machines, internet access on demand. Overall 5 out of 5, would recmmend to anyone.
