Our stay at Clunie Lodge in July 2012 was very disappointing. The house itself is very nice in a beautiful location and we booked based on excellent reviews, which we now understand related to previous owners. The room was very tired, and we did not get the impression it was properly cleaned. Breakfast was a huge disappointment - poorly prepared,... More

Thank you for the kind review. Having purchased Clunie Lodge last April we inherited a beautiful house that keeps with tradition. It is hard to decide how far to modernize a traditional old Manse like Clunie Lodge. We did a lot of work over the winter getting new bedding and towels for some rooms. In addition doing some upgrades to... More

What a disappointment. We booked this B&B back in April for 2 nights, as the reviews on Tripadvisor were very good. When we arrived, we were met by the owners daughter, shown to our room, which was up many flights of steps, and had a breakfast menu shoved under our nose. There was no orientation to the guest house -... More

We stayed here over the Braemar Games Weekend. Very disappointing. Lovely location is spoiled by the tired and outdated interiors and linens. In addition the cooked breakfast is so far below standard as to be embarrassing. The black pudding was hard and obviously cooked well in advance or worse case yesterday. I should also mention the old cheap towels and... More

The Clunie Lodge was outstanding! The location, facilities and staff were excellent. The lodge is located just off the main street in Braemar with great views of the highlands and the immediate countryside. Great place to stay for any excursions in and around Braemar.

Based on the reviews in Trip Advisor, we chose this guest house 4 months ago, in March, as somewhere we would stay in Braemar the next time we went walking in that area. When we arrived after a day's walking, we were a little surprised by the rather off-hand welcome and the requirement to complete a form indicating exactly what... More

We stayed here one night in June. Beautiful house. Lovely large room, lovely books on the shelves. Bathroom very old and tired but presume they will be updating if they are new owners. But breakfast was a very strange affair. Nice dining room, but no contact at all with the owners. Asked what we wanted for breakfast, no chat, brought... More

Having stayed at Clunie Lodge under the previous owners in the past, it proved to be a huge disappointment this time with the new owners. They don't seem to have much of a clue how to treat their guests, very little interaction going on, attention to detail left much to be desired, we just did not feel like we were... More

The guesthouse is set in beautiful grounds, 2 minutes from Braemar centre. The room we had was with a bath which had tons of hot water if needed. The room was clean and well equipped and has comfortable beds. Breakfasts were of good quality food with no complaints except could have been a little hotter. The guesthouse itself is very... More

We traveled there in April 2012 and picked this place because it was #1 on Trip Advisor. I totally agree with the last review I read. It is more of a hobby for them not a business. Moonllighter92 was right. There was a leak in our bath I reported behind the toliet and nothing was done. I did the same... More
