Reading these negative reviews of this Inn makes me wonder if these people stayed at the same place as us! My partner and I had a two night weekend break booked to get away from what has been a stressful year so far and had a wonderful time here. We arrived at dinner time on Friday night and went to... Had booked this hotel through another site and on seeing some of these reviews I was worried it could be a bad choice. Completely unfounded - rooms were great, with four poster beds and roll top baths, wonderful traditional atmosphere, great breakfast and cheery, helpful service. Then there is the location and the view which are fantastic. Would not hesitate... More

Full credit to the creativity exhibited by the photos of the rooms on the website. Our reality was a small, dark room with torn bed cover and the second most sqeaky bed that I've ever encountered. Breakfast room overcrowded with tables and the scambled eggs with smoked salmon lacked salmon and was microwaved. Friendly staff but that doesn't make up... More

Visited the tea room with 3 friends and was shocked by just how poor it was. Table wasn't clean, chair had something sticky on it and had to be swapped. Cakes on display looked like they had been there several days - we didn't try one. The teapot was chipped and the coffee was very poor. The toilets (ladies) had... More

The Hotel looked lovely, very old school style to it, which me and the girlfriend both liked. The room we had was TINY, there was no TV or Radio which would have been nice to know beforehand. The staff were very friendly, the food was the best I've ever had, with my mother being a chef that is a huge... More

8 of us stayed two nights here. Nice friendly folk, with excellent food, and our room good. Weather not so good, but hey, didn't need to go out, very comfortable indoors. More

The attitude of the barman when we arrived was appalling. He made it clear we weren't welcome, and that we shouldn't expect to eat at the pub, even though that wasn't our intention and hadn't said so. The room was cramped, uncomfortable, basic and there was no hot water. There was a tv on in the room next to ours,... More

I stayed here for a night with my fiance and we had a great time. The owner was lovely and literally couldn't do enough to help. Most of the staff were foreign but were also great. They have a nice wee rustic bar with a good selection of beers: Carlsberg, Stella, Best and various real ales that were lovely. We... More

First the good-the view from our room (number 5) is wonderful, you could sit all day and watch the water tumbling over the falls, the breakfast is really filling and freshly made (particularly the porridge), the staff were all very pleasant and chatty. Next the bad-our room had a frightingly sloping floor, it was never meant to be a double... More
