The good: Very friendly and accommodating staff. Good gold member lounge on 14th floor for breakfast and evening snacks. Gym is nice and outfitted with quality equipment that is all in good working order. Rooms are comfortable and pleasant. The Bad: The entire lobby smelled like sewer from the first day to the last (Mon-Wed). Drinks in the hotel bar... More

Recently stayed at the Memphis Marriot East and while the hotel and staff tries to be good, they aren't quite up to par. First the rooms, as others have stated, old tube TV's with limited channels is out-of-date, and this is just an example. 0.85 per minute to use a computer in the business center? Are you kidding me? Ordered... More

I spend from one-third to one-half of my life in hotels, some of which are disappointing, but my experience in this hotel gave me a whole new perspective on what disappointing looks and feels like. Please understand that the hotel had reasons to keep me happy. I was there to present a two-day program in their meeting and banquet area.... More

I often stay at Marriott Hotels. In Memphis, I always stay at the Downtown Marriott (really, really nice). But on this trip to Memphis, the Downtown Marriott was booked and I had no choice but to stay at the Memphis Marriott East. Friends, this is NOT a Marriott. It is an old building that somehow obtained the Marriott Brand and... More

I have stayed at this hotel several times traveling east and west for various reasons. The hotel staff are wonderful! The property is a little older, but management has done well to maintain it, and the services and facilities are very good. It provides an excellent value for the price.

I just spent one night at this Marriott. The location is great with many restaurants nearby. The hotel seems to cater to the business community and in fact I was conducting a conference at the hotel is everything went smoothly. The front desk staff are very helpful. I do want to say a special thankyou to the front desk manager.... More

Recently had a one night stay for a business trip. The hotel was conveniently located fairly close to the airport and near to the area where I was working. They appeared to have an airport shuttle in operation, although I did not use it. I'm not sure if this comes complimentary, or if there's a fee involved. The lobby was... More

Recently stayed on a Sunday night using a reward night so the room cost was complimentary for me. Upon checking in, i was immediately recognized as being an elite member a few times and my room requests were confirmed and was placed in a 9th floor room. Service at the front desk was very friendly and cordial. As others have... More

I am presently staying in the Marriott Memphis East and am shocked to find out they charge guests $0.85 per minute in the business center, and $0.15 a page for print outs. When the hotel advertises high speed internet as a feature, one would normally assume this is an included feature. Shocked to find out it is a pay service... More

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past few years, and overall it's fair to say that it's 'OK'. Any of the bedrooms I stayed in are pretty tired and shabby at this stage... but overall they are clean and the beds are comfortable. Staff are generally helpful and very friendly and welcoming. The food in the... More
