We needed a room at the last minute and found this place via a recommendation. Very friendly and obliging owners, good breakfast and a cosy bar/ pool table area. Homely rather than plush but very good value.

we paid £158 for 2 nights in a 'suite' . I adore the area and we did have good views of the castle and could see the sea to the side of the view. We thought the hotel was on the whole, fair for a budget stay.
NEGATIVES- The suite had obviously been 2 adjoining bedrooms too small to market...

Don`t even know what to start with.
Negative points:
-Smelly, on coridors, rooms
-Mouldy showers, dirty toilets
-Dirty carpets
-Unfriendly an unhelpful owners ( Haven`t seen even a smile)
-No internet in rooms
-Awful breakfast (poor choice, cheap sausages, nearly burned egg, no has browns?) that made us eat elsewhere in the evenings

Just spent a long weekend at the Marine; great place to stop. It may not be grand but it has a welcomiing atmosphere; is part of the local community, the function room is in use for something local nearly every night. There is real ale in the bar (Directors) very good breakfasts and most of all knowleagable owners that quietly...

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The owners are lovely, friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. If the weather isn't great (which is wasn't for us) there is a lounge residents can sit in with a view down to the sea. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection of cereals and cooked breakfast. The...

Having read the varying reviews, we were very happy with our choice, comfortable and relaxed hotel, room spacious, well equipped, excellent views of sea and castle. Owners very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive, food more than adequate, enjoyed our drinks in the bar with Emlyn, will certainly go again .
Had a 3 night short stay (August 2011 Bank Holiday) at the Marine Hotel, and got exactly what we paid for a two star hotel, standard, clean, tidy and roomy accommodation for a twin room.
The accommodation had tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary shampoo, soap and shower gel, portable digital TV and hair dryer with plenty of storage space....

We were at The Marine Hotel for a family function and my family, friends and I have never been treated in such an unprofessional way than how Martin and Gaynor, the hoteliers who run the Marine, treated our family and friends. Told to SHUT UP, while we were all enjoying a great evening and buying numerous drinks at their bar!!...

We had gathered as a family to celebrate a very special occasion. We had already attended a celebration to the occasion overseas, but got together again in Criccieth to include the friends and family who had been unable to travel.
It's fair to say that Basil Fawlty would have been embarrased.
"Turn the music down" came the shrilling call from...

I stayed one night in Marine Hotel in room 8. It was a large family room with a mountain view. It was clean with a comfortable bed and lovely white cotton sheets and lovely white fluffy towels. In fact the sheets and towels were comparable with any four star hotel. The breakfast was good with a varied selection and plenty...
