I guess the dryer's in the basement are in as poor condition as the elevators. This hotel is mismanaged, poorly staffed, lacks parking, and smells. Perhaps the fire in the basement actually will make the hotel smell better.

First off, you have to be one that appreciates old historic buildings to enjoy your stay here. We picked this hotel because of its location and proximety to the House of Blues. Yes, the rooms are small, but my fiance and I had a wonderful, memorable nights stay there. The staff was friendly and the shuttle driver was awesome and...

When we checked in we were told "Happy Hour" is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The sign on the door to bar/resturant said 4:00 to 7:00 "Happy Hour." We went to the bar at 6:25 and was told "Happy Hour" is over. We didn't argue with him and paid our tab. I would like for someone to inform him of the...

Booked two nights for Girls Weekend based off online description of a "luxury" boutique hotel and rate of $112 a night. To make a long story short, room was clean but unusually tiny with a tv from the 80s, laptop size desk, and cute but tiny bathroom with no counter space and a hidden toilet paper roll holder (I dare...

It had been a few years since I'd stayed at Hotel Lawrence, and upon reading the reviews of it on this site, I was a little frightened it might have changed from the sweet place we'd liked before. Each to their own, but we still loved it.
I like to travel to Dallas via Amtrak, and the hotel is straight...

We just returned from a week in Dallas (we being two adults and a baby). I'll start off with the bad since it's a smaller list. The building is older so the rooms are smaller than new construction and the elevator is slower. Personally, I find both of these quaint but I could see how other travelers might get annoyed....

Let's start by saying that I like "European style" hotels, and I chose to ignore the bad reviews for this hotel because some of them smacked of people who wouldn't like an older hotel no matter what. I hate to say it - LISTEN TO THEM.
There is no decent parking. If you have a car, you will have to...

Hi. I recently stayed at the Hotel Lwarence, in Dallas, and my experience was a good one. All employees at the front desk were very friendly and helpful with all my questions, specially the one from Baltimore (I don't remember his name). The rate included breakfast and it had many options. The location is great, near a lot of attractions...

My husband and I stayed two nights here... and it was just "ok".
The breakfast was quite less than average, not very good and this is coming from a very optimistic couple that we try and make the best of things.
I would like to take this time to warn you about the location and parking.......
There is no parking!...

We never even made it past the check in process...
I found this hotel on the trip advisor forums. I was looking for a room within walking distance of The House of Blues. I read the reviews here and did see some negative comments but thought I would give it a chance. I called the hotel directly I thought, as...
