My husband and I went to Friedricksburg for a romantic, fun getaway and we stayed at the Settlers Crossing Bed and Breakfast! It was a wonderful experience!! The cabins have beautiful character and interesting history. Not only were the cabins perfect, but the wild life and the surrounding property were outstanding! One morning, we got up to relax on the... More

When you want a B&B close to town yet far enough away from the noise this is the place. When my wife and I pulled in we were greeted by David the inkeeper and Grace his able asst. There was a small mixup with the cabin however that was fixed immediately. On our way to our new cabin we were greeted... More

We've stayed in B&B's all over Canada, the U.S. and Europe and this one is our favorite! Loved the history of our cabin, the beauty of the stone and log construction, the pastoral views and the peacefulness of that combination. Hoping we can go back again soon!

I spent 3 nights in the Indiana house and had a wonderful time. The owner, Dave, picked up the bike I rented from town and returned it after I left - that was extremely appreciated! I spent a lot of time on bike while I was there and really enjoyed riding around the trails on the property. One evening a... More

If you ahve looked at the website, then you already know that Settlers Crossing consists of several old restored buildings that are individually rented and not rooms in a single building. We loved our stay in the Pioneer cabin. The character of the old buildings (note that old does not mean decrepit, but of course it also means that perhaps... More

We stayed at Settler’s Crossing for a short holiday family vacation after Christmas and chose it for its country location and charm. As soon as we arrived we absolutely loved it! We stayed in the 1800s Pioneer Cabin and the 1920s Baag House. I think the only complaint we had about the houses was that those who stayed in the... More

Tranquil? Yes! Comfy and homey? Absolutely! Vacationing old style? No doubt! My family consist of my wife and I and our two daughters, aged 19 and 12. We do everything together! We wanted a place where we could literally "play house" in a country, farm, old world environment and this was a dream come true! I cooked us a big... More

The old buildings are charming and the look and feel of the property is very authentic and peaceful. That said there were many small things that made our stay less than perfect. First off we had a long day hiking and wanted to take a bath. There was not enough water in the hot water heater to fill the bath... More

I am so sorry. It seams that sometimes everything goes wrong. The commode was broken, (a somple part worn out) the hot water heater went out and had to be replaced, and it rained for six days straight (something not seen here for awhile). As for the breakfast, we do as best we can. We do not have a central... More

We loved staying in the converted 1800s barn. It was being in the country, but only 5 minutes out of town center. So peaceful and quiet, sitting outside for coffee in the morning, using the walking paths on the property, watching the sunset in the porch swing. The beds were so comfortable, and with rain on the roof....couldn't be any... More

Six families (15 people) met here to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. It was a great choice. David, the owner, gave us four cabins together that formed a little compound. We brought two long tables and our own chairs and had dinner outside each evening under the stars. (We brought things that just required heating up in the oven. It... More
