It's a roadside motel, so don't expect too much in the way of amenities or style. But it's within walking distance of Boy Scout Woods and quite close to all the other birding venues. The included breakfast was adequate, and the dinners were fine and reasonable (no liquor license, but you can bring your own.). The staff was very friendly

It is and old but functional mom n pop..funky and friendly.. an adventure.. if you are a whiner stay in winnie at one of the brands otherwise enjoy sharing you time with the staff and other guests in collegial comeraderie

We've been coming to High Island for many years, and have always stayed here! The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and it is perfectly located for access to birding in the area. We recently called to get a room, but forgot to request non-smoking. Becky, the owner, went out of her way to accommodate our request.

This is an attractive property as seen from the highway, centrally located for beach and birding activity. The town of High Island is quiet, and views of the Gulf and surrounding wetlands are great.
