The hotel is easy to get to and in a great location. I was greeted from the time i stepped out of my car. My check in experience was wonderful. Very friendly hotel staff. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. I had a wonderful stay and cant wait to go back!!!!!!

This hotel has a great downtown location. I walked mostly to my office and to restuarants at night, but they did have a Courtesy Car which would take you where you needed to go. I can't comment on the restaurant because I didn't eat there ($$$), but the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of several restaurants. The rooms... More

Very nice boutique hotel in Downtown Houston. Although I prefer the major chains, the rooms looked outstanding (bathrooms especially), staff cordial and we had a nice experience overall during our stay. Beds were amongst the most comfortable and largest I've ever slept in. There are a number of negatives that some people may be interested in however: Very small elevators... More

The hotel foyer nice enough but not as quality as I would have liked also very dark. The room was pleasant and had a good view. The mini-bar had out of date snacks - I highlighted this for a packet of pretzels I took out but when I checked my bill after leaving, was still charged. The in room phone... More

Hotel staff was great. Very helpful at the front desk and the room was very nice. A short walk to Minute Maid Park, Aquarium, and other events around downtown area. The downside was the restaurant staff. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Ate there after the ballgame and Sunday Brunch. Food was great. Staff desperately needs to be replaced... More

Found a moldy smoothie in the fridge ... Dirty room, not enough towels... Rude front desk staff, average food in restaurant & small tv. Only good things were comfy bed, nice decor, & close to ballpark! Also $25 for parking on top of pricey stay!

Unfortunately, my company has a deal with this hotel; so i have to stay here every year. This year was especially bad. When i arrived in the room around 10pm, i wanted a drink from the minibar (which is something i rarely do). There was LOTS of half eaten food, like a hamburger, and the smell was bad. It had... More

I spent a couple days at the Alden Hotel and had a great time. The service was exceptional and the staff was truly accomodating. The location was very centrally located and I had easy access to all the things I had planned for the weekend. It was just a couple blocks from Allen Parkway running trail which leads to Memorial... The Alden is a renovated hotel which in the past must have been called the Sam Houston Hotel -apparantly quite a historic place. This explains the small facilities such as elevators and rooms. I stayed for a week while on company business. On the positive: - Beds are comfy - Bathroom quite stylish - Valet guys very friendly - Quiet... More

Stayed here for a friends wedding. It should have been clear from the time of making my reservation that there would be problems. Upon entering the hotel, there were a group of irate customers, and a very non interested staffer. The maids down the hall were talking so loud at 8 am that I had to ask them to keep... More
