We booked this hotel through Hotwire, the rooms were perfectly clean and we didn't experience any issues. Be sure to arrive early for breakfast, though, there's barely any room and you may end up eating standing up.

This is not a luxury hotel, but you get a good value for your money and it's well located in Mcallen (in the highway, not the Plaza Mall street).
